“Hey Williams, how are you? Can you come over to my place? I’m feeling really bored”, Arike said on the phone.

“Are you saying you’re alone at home?”, I asked.

“Yes,” she replied.

“Alright… I’ll be there soon”, I replied nervously.

After finishing my meal, I hurried into the bathroom. I took a shower, applied lotion all over my body, used roll-on on my armpits, put on a shirt and trousers, grabbed my crossbag and left my house. I made a quick stop at a restaurant, bought some food for her and then hailed a bus to head straight to her place.

I had pursued this lady for nearly a month, yet her busy job left little room for social media or phone calls. This moment was a rare gem, a chance I couldn’t afford to miss. It was like receiving a blank check. But what does it truly mean when a lady says, “she’s home alone”?
