Chapter 84: The Elites, Part 2

SHIKK!

The attack was somehow successful, with the stab wound penetrating across the boy's back, straight through his very chest, his blood being spat out from his mouth at the wound. The Elites were almost shocked at this encounter, believing that the child was capable of tricking them into attacking something else or averting it in some way. As Sacrum attempted to pull away and try to get another strike, however, it would be evident as to exactly why such was the case. Despite the bleeding and the wound being close to his very vitals, the demon merely smiled as he'd set up two sigils to act as a counter. The first was of the defense itself, having it ensnare the arm itself, holding it down as much as possible, whilst the very lines seeped into his weapon of choice, his very claws, preventing further movement. The second was of Asmodeus, using the fire to cauterize the wound inflicted, sealing it, allowing Ennio to recover himself from the cauterization. As the other two recognized that Sacrum was placed in a deadly position, they'd try to intervene. Maxilla throws herself forward, having the draconic arm stretch itself out, as well as sharpening the tips as if it were a finely tuned blade, severing the arms that she believed were holding him down. Talus, meanwhile, would try to intervene by getting in the way of the attack, hoping to catch the bullet they'd assume would be fired.

What they didn't recognize at that moment, was that this would be Zazel's time to strike. Creating the Sigil of Stolas, he'd have the stars raise themself up, so as to act as landmines to detonate, pushing himself forward so as to use Sacrum's body as a wall against the incoming destruction. Ennio, meanwhile, launched himself back, armed with one of his guns, aiming directly for Sacrum's head, with the detonation acting as his cover, the sand being his ultimate wall. "WAIT! DON'T GET OVER HERE! ITS A TRA-"

BANG!!

BA-BOOM!!

Sacrum's warning fell on the wayside as the plan was a success, a massive explosion that blasted off some soldiers on both sides, as well as dealing severe damage to the trio, aiming to kill one of them with the odds stacked against their favor. The Explosion was enough to throw Sacrum over, allowing the lines to let go and fling him away, freeing Zazel from the claw's wound, finally being able to properly move and heal his wounds without any interruption. Ennio simply had the sand assist the healing process, condensing certain minerals to act as a cast for the child, while he looked on to the opposition. The wounds dealt to Sacrum was too great: severe burns and loss of some limbs, as well as the bullet wound straight to his head. He was as good as dead, and the limp body proved it. As the dust settled, he was shocked that one of them was still unharmed. Maxilla, the Bone Mage herself, was intact, though just as badly hurt, with burns across her stomach, chest, and half of her face, as well as the arm being nowhere to be seen. Ennio inferred that she must've used her arm to protect herself and sustained her life. Despite that, she was still just as mad as before, but was calming herself with deep breaths. Talus, on the other hand, was badly crippled, with his legs and lower body being destroyed and scattered amidst the sand. His arms were badly wounded, and his clothes were burnt to cinders, leaving him with merely the cloak covering him from the waist up. His face was somewhat disfigured, but no further damage was showed, though he clearly panicked a bit when seeing the damage. Maxilla merely bent down and covered his mouth before he screamed.

"Don't. Yell. Relax yourself. I got you covered." She'd state, still authoritative, yet now relaxed. With her gaping wound amidst her arm, she would sprout more of such bone, having it act as a wall first to protect them and as a healing option by recreating bone structure to attach towards Talus. Ennio would try to intervene, but would be stopped by another attack, one that he hasn't been able to see before.

SHIKK!!

Nearly a slice across his stomach upwards, Ennio dodged it in time and backed off, staring down at what looked to be a claw, similar in shape towards the likes of Sacrum's. He'd look back and still see his body lying dead, trying to figure out what happened. Without another word, the Claw extended itself forward, shaping the body, somehow gaining color and texture to human skin, with the bones acting as his very clothing, tightly clutching his body and spreading out to act like armor. Ennio couldn't help but be amazed at this process.

Sacrum came back from the very dead. Or Rather...

"Damnit all....That's seriously his magic, huh?" Ennio muttered to himself. Zazel quickly picked up on his words and was just as confused, watching the man simply resurrect himself.

"Wait, what happened? I'm confused..." The demon would ask.

"To put things simply, There's a style of magic that somewhat makes you 'Immortal' in a way. It's called Soul Magic. It makes your life tethered to any object and allows you to come back through said object. In this instance, that guy must've tethered himself to solid bone and make himself come back whenever he gets done in."

"Wait....That would mean...."

Ennio would nod, affirming Zazel's beliefs. "Yeah.....Killing him is out of the question. Not to mention he most likely did it with Maxilla, based off of the writing we saw there. We're gonna have to try and split them up so that they can't do this synergy. Their aim is pretty clear: Wear us down so that they get the kill in. Simple, effective, and a headache. You ready, lil' man?"

Zazel would try to get up, his body properly patched up thanks to the minerals in the sand holding him steady, wiping away the blood that came out of his mouth, spitting it out so as to be focused. "Yeah....Let's beat 'em up." Zazel would charge straight in, sigils in hand, ready to initiate his second wave of attacks, having the knowledge in mind to prepare him for his strike.
