Chapter 271: Turn 9

Calico would prepare his die as he'd look around his surroundings, watching the flaming monstrosity stand before him, as well as the floating castle-like creature by his side. Discounting the other participants, he would need to get a spell to at least debilitate one of them, an illusion to make them unable to fight, most likely for three turns, as was the other spells that had no such cooldown in them. The darkness was quick to disappear, letting them see the Pirate once more, rolling his die as he'd see off of his peripheral vision a worthwhile illusion that would at least buy him enough time.

The highest number he could get. Calico ran like mad as he'd trail around the likes of Fibonacci, snagging a spell and saving his spaces so that he can cast it instantly, an illusion spell directly at the monster itself. A spell with hypnotic patterns that would slowly but surely drift the beast asleep, making it involuntarily abide by Calico's will, forcing it to take up the remaining spaces and block Calico away from the others, taking aim for Harvard's head, attempting to make him the second player to be eliminated. Anne countered this with her own spell, creating a large wall out of solid gold, most likely the main material used to construct it. Said wall would take the damage Fibonacci was about to cast, forcing her to play defense whilst the others have to go after the new beast. Everyone would do their roles in the hopes of closing in and striking down the sentient, sleeping pillar.

Anne would stay back, gathering another spell in the form of a Virus, one depicting a paper-like bat creature with an insignia within the background. She'd store such a spell and would use her Thunder Bullets to fire at Fibonacci, while also hoping it would provide a stun effect through the electricity in order to paralyze it and not let it get a reaction. Teach and Enma both closed in and would issue their own strikes, with Teach attempting to bind the beast further using a seal, watching its soul be bound by a talisman, preventing its energy from being released, and Enma casting forth a specific layer. The monster's ability was as expected from the children, watching one of the many layers built within its cloth be casted as a direct attack, in this case being of pure ice from Treachery, freezing the monster and causing spikes out of ice to pierce into and rip Fibonacci asunder. Despite being mostly aware of its abilities, based on Zazel's experience back at the hotel, the Pirates were more so shocked and somewhat disgusted at seeing such a raw display, temporarily imagining themselves in the beast's shoes of what they would've been up against.

Such thoughts disappeared once he got his spell, depicting a lightning bolt, and the two children trying to close in whilst dealing in their long range attacks. Zazel would utilize the Darkness spell, creating an orb of pitch black, firing it straight at the spiral to damage what he assumed would be its sight. Solomon, meanwhile, would take the time to try and aim towards Calico himself, casting his Crane Game spell in order to get out his beast, doing the same move he was doing in saving his paces to ensure the beast he brings gets a head start, stopping himself atop of another monster to even further his odds. The metallic claw would be formed almost instantly, swiftly lowering itself and diving within the cards the Biblical Mage possessed, a ripple effect being made as it began scooping out the desired monster: A Sabretooth-like toy with blades protruding out of its body, mostly for its claws and head, acting as a mane for the trinket. The beast's eyes began to glow as it reacted almost instantaneously, roaring around and scampering in place, looking towards Solomon like it was a dog, before the latter pointed at Calico and gave it a direct order. A Growl escaped from its soft mouth as it used the remaining paces, although it would hit itself on an invisible wall once reached, casting the attack by complete accident.

SHIKK!!

A Sword. A Blade that skewers the Pirate through his stomach, his health bar drastically depleted, his life leaving out of his body, securing the second kill, the third body being made moments after, amidst a nearby space away from the corpse, the health bar replenishing back to full, with the roman numeral of three at the top. His third life is prepared. Harvard would crawl a bit forward, having his hands reach out enough to see if there was a spell that can either let him stand again, being met with a card that widened his eyes. His Monster Magic, now condensed into a single card. He looked over at his two friends, noticing that only Solomon would get a new card, a monster depicting a plushie demon with a trident on its side. They must've not had anymore space to work with, forcing them to try and use their spells first once they reached there. Calico would roll his shoulders and do small stretches for his new body to adjust to. "Aye, one's spawnin' blades anywhere, o'her uses hell. I's be havin' me work cut out, eh?" He'd mutter to himself, looking and seeing the damages being potent, having merely half compared to the other monsters that has been summoned before, all through simple spells nonetheless. He was quick to infer that the summoning method through a cheaper style would result in having less durability than what it normally would, acting as more of a glass cannon than a strong force. He'd roll his die and eyed on the board once again, ready to gun for a new spell to help with Fibonacci against his new opponents, or at the very least prevent it from leaving his sight by another massive attack like the previous one.

He'd allow Fibonacci to approach at the same pace, both of them taking six to move, though upon reaching their fifth pace, Calico would turn towards the spell to his left, allowing Fibonacci to take position and cast its attack onto Zazel, which the Pirate assumed would be the most problematic. Said spell he attained, as he'd took aim, was of a holy spell, one that would guarantee an elimination as it took the scene.

The second Harbinger: Conquest.
