Chapter 281: Hospitalized

"So... This is gonna take a while to explain. After the tragedy of my home... I feel as if it's my responsibility to bring it back. Start anew. That's why I proposed the quest, as... well... Someone seems to have beaten me to it. Added on the strange noises and even stranger pulses of energy from the chapel, it feels like something one needs to investigate, don't they?" The princess would ask, as she would try to lead the children towards a hospital, rooms upon rooms of patients being tended to through the usage of magic, whether for mental, spiritual, or physical reasons. Stolas can see on his right of a woman grieving, her mind taking a physical form to dissect out the depression that lurks in her, taking the form of a leech that feeds off of negative emotions. Harvard can see on his right a man without a heart, watching the doctors in the next room construct one through the combined efforts of their magic, creating strands of tissue and fiber, testing its heartbeat to see if it can be strong enough to prolong the man's life.

Zazel would have his eyes widened at how not only morbid, but effective such healing methods were being. He can even see someone in a room without his legs, making use of his magic and the artifact by creating a golden prosthetic instead, complete with an engine to empower it further. "How do you guys DO this??" He'd question, having the Princess turn her head towards the demon.

"Oh, this? This is the standard, actually!"

"STANDARD!?"

"Ever since the Black Plague, medicine has become our quickest solution by far. What started from a set of stones to create a healing effect from the disease, quickly branched out into all sorts of methods. In fact, my soon-to-be is residing here! You'll be amazed at how much his progress has been." She'd say all of this with a warm smile, as she'd quickly makes her way to the upper floors, opening a door to let the boys in, with Zazel and Solomon being astounded at what is before them. A Young man, his hair flowing wildly, as if he was born and raised in a jungle. His build was immaculate, currently curled back and forth as the man was doing straight-leg sit-ups on a wall, his legs holding onto a metal rail to keep himself steady, a serpent wrapping around on his ankles to act as a coach, bobbing its head to a rhythm the man can follow. His breath was ragged, yet he kept pushing himself further and further, his chest and one of his arms a rusted brown, almost metallic even. Stolas and Harvard would be stunned somewhat at seeing him, assuming he was more animal than human with his physique.

Zazel and Solomon were the only two that recognized him in an instant. "ADEL!? THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOU!?" Solomon would screech, his jaw nearly dropping to the floor. The man stopped his training as he heard his name, opening his green eyes to the Biblical Sorcerer.

His grin was ear-to-ear, his eyes almost shimmering with joy as he'd see him. "Well if it isn't the little runts who tried to cheat her out! How's it going!?" He'd shout, having him let his serpent trail across his limbs as he'd flip upright, being noticeably taller and older than before, his wicked hair flailing around as if it was a living thing.

"Ah...Could be better, I guess? You didn't answer my question, though!"

"Oh? This? Eh, nothing a little work out can't fix!" He'd stretch his arms a bit, with such an answer prompting Zazel to look around for a clipboard and read through his current condition:

"Adel Serpens, age 18."

"Origins: Salvandi. Build: Lean. Gender: Male."

"Current Condition: Carbon Poisoning across his muscular and skeletal structure."

"Progress: Personally trained himself to somehow be resistant towards the Poisoning. Check-ups have shown his body adapted into the poisoning and have it serve as a secondary bloodstream, his blood cells and plasma being strengthened because of it, though at a cost of requiring more fluids than needed to further fuel the secondary bloodstream. Studies are still being done as to how he accomplished such a method."

"Excuse me??" Was all the Demon could state, seeing Adel peek over and take the clipboard off of his hands.

"You're excused! Believe me, it was more of a pain than you can think of. Ever since the carbon stuff invaded my body, It became my life's mission to make the carbon less of a problem." He'd start, getting himself into a push-up position, being quick in his movements, with the snake timing it once more. "With every...Ghh...Action...Guh...Came an equal...Ghh...And opposite...." He'd struggle for the last words, his body sweating bullets, some of which almost were a solid, having the Princess be quick in grabbing as many water bottles as she can to either let him drink or splash onto his skin, having it be soaked up into his pores as if he was a sponge. "...Reaction!" He'd yell, doubling his speed and efforts through his exercise.

He felt inhumane, to say the least, yet the two boys, Stolas and Harvard, were more impressed at how much he was pushing himself for.

Solomon was still horrified at how his magic created a monster of a human. "Okay, noted. Never throwing Carbon Poisoning onto someone again..."

"Nah....Just the ones... Ghh...That aren't as prepared....Guh...As me!"

Despite the shock and awe, the Princess looked on towards the boys. "So, can I count on you to check on what's going on in the Chapel? Me and my soon-to-be will be expected to wed come a few weeks from now, so we don't really have much time to waste." She'd ask kindly, though such a request would fall on deaf ears for one half, and with a stare of disbelief for the other.

Zazel looked on to Solomon, which the latter would shrug as his only answer. "I guess.....we can?" The demon would reply, sharing the same feelings as the Sorcerer. All they need to do is to simply wait for Adel's recovery to be over, most likely being released tomorrow, guaranteeing on that day to gather as much knowledge as they can.
