- Location: Japan, inside the Heinrich manor's ballroom
[POV: Jihye]
"You seriously had nothing better than this?" I was upset; they had offered to give me replacement clothes after what happened, but Henri insisted that I wear one of hers.
It was a pink dress with strawberry embroidery at the hem. I couldn't say no to her...
Now, one might wonder why the party was still going on. Well, basically, Liam came up with a plan. He said that if I were to show up at the dance unharmed, someone from the crowd might react. It was a long shot, but it was better than nothing, I guess.
"For your information, that is one of my favorite dresses! You should be glad that I let you wear it!" Henri exclaimed, looking away as she blushed.
"Okay, okay... but at least let me wear my jacket," I said as I grabbed my black jacket from the table chair.
"Oh no, you don't! Don't sully this moment! I rarely see you wearing the stuff I like... please..." Henri's adorable eyes were irresistible.
"Fine, just this once." I could not say no to her. Well, it doesn't really bother me that much anyway.
Some time passed as we just talked and laughed.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Henri asked as she held my hand. "Really, I'm fine... but something odd happened during the fight earlier," I said as I took a sip from my drink.
"You died, didn't you..." Henri said as she sighed.
"You... know something about this?" I was shocked to hear her speak.
"Years ago, back at that abandoned factory, I saw you die, multiple times," Henri said as her grip tightened.
"Why didn't you tell me?!" I exclaimed as I let go of her hands.
She was silent as tears started to fall from her face.
"Because I didn't want you to know! I know you, Jihye! You are far too reckless! I don't want to see you die... even if you come back! What if your quirk doesn't work?! What if you die for real..." Henri's outburst attracted the crowd as they started to gossip.
Hearing the crowd talk, she stomped her foot and ran away from the ballroom.
"Henri, wait!" I exclaimed as I ran after her.

[POV: Third-Person]
"Henri! Where are you? Let's talk!" Jihye was yelling as she ran around the manor. "Why does this place have to be so big?" Jihye said, having no clue where Henri went.
...
"Why did I run away like that?" Henri was embarrassed as she sat on a bench in the flower garden.
"I shouldn't have yelled at her... what if she hates me now?" Henri was depressed as she looked at the moon.
"I've said this time and time again, Henri. Nothing you do could ever hurt me." Jihye suddenly appeared as she walked through the garden door.
"Jihye..." Tears fell from Henri's eyes as Jihye ran up to embrace her.
"I love you," Henri said as she hugged Jihye tightly.
"I love you too," Jihye said as she suddenly stopped hugging her.
Jihye suddenly opened her phone, which confused Henri.
Suddenly, a song started playing.
"The night cannot end without the birthday girl getting a single dance, can it?" Jihye said as she placed the phone on the bench.
"Henri, will you have this dance with me?" Jihye smiled as she offered Henri a dance.
Henri blushed as she gave Jihye her hand. "Y-you may," Henri was flustered as she was suddenly pulled into Jihye's arms.
And so, the lovers danced, the moon being their spotlight as they moved around the garden of flowers...
...
Weeks passed as Jihye and Henri prepared for the UA entrance exam. "Sorry I still couldn't find out who sent that hitman after you, little Jihye... It's likely that they weren't even one of the guests that day," Liam said as he drove the car, with Jihye and Henri in the back.
"Don't worry about it, Liam. Just focus on the driving... You're about to hit that motorcycle," Jihye said as Liam quickly turned the wheel, narrowly avoiding the motorcycle.
Liam sweated as he sighed. "You need to get more sleep," Henri said as she noticed his baggy eyes.
"I'm fine, miss. I'll get some rest once I get you both to UA," Liam merely smiled as he continued to drive.
RING! RING!
Jihye's phone suddenly rang.
"JIHYE!!! I'M SO SORRY I COULDN'T SEE YOU OFF TODAY!! THERE HAS BEEN A BREAK IN OUR CAS—" Kei's loud voice was suddenly interrupted as Jihye hung up.
RING! RING!
Her phone rang again as veins started to bulge from her forehead. "Look, Dad! It's fine! I understand! Please stop yelling!" Jihye exclaimed as she answered the phone.
"OKAY! I will stop yell—!!" Kei exclaimed as he was cut off again.
RING! RING!
"What is it now?" Jihye said, her mouth twitching.
"Jihye, I'm proud of you," Kei's words threw Jihye off guard as she didn't know how to respond.
"This path you're taking... It will be a thorny one, but still, I couldn't be more proud to have you as my daughter... Show them what you're made of," Kei said as he chuckled.
"Thanks, Dad... I won't let you down," Jihye smiled as she replied.
"Now, don't let me hold you up! I gotta go anyways. Love ya!" Kei said as he hung up.
"We're here," Liam said as he parked outside the UA gate.
Jihye and Henri got out of the car as they looked at the enormous UA gate. "We're finally here, Jihye," Henri said as she grabbed Jihye's hand.
Jihye grinned as she took a step forward. "Let's get this over with."
