Annabelle slapped me," Lydia chipped in, her voice trembling as she recounted the incident that had just unfolded in the kitchen. She completely pretended to be the victim, making it sound like Annabelle had walked up to her and slapped her without reason.
"You bloody liar, didn't you slap me first? You're in my matrimonial home, and you have the guts to order me around? You must be joking; you're leaving this house as soon as my husband comes back," Annabelle threatened as we walked past them, knowing fully well that Sherly was behind that incident.
"You can't chase my guest out of this house, Annabelle. Wait till you see whose side Edwards would stand on," Sherly said in a loud voice, hoping Annabelle could hear them before turning to her friend Lydia. "You did well; I never thought she'd retaliate," she said with a smirk.
"She is a pretender," Lydia replied, touching her face as she winced in pain from bruises.
