Lydia’s plot

Edward knew he had to leave. The weight of his mother's silent tears and self-blame had become unbearable. She tried to hide her pain, but Edward saw through her facade. He needed to escape, to find solace in a new environment. Richmond was calling him, and he couldn't wait to explore the new place, to immerse himself in its mysteries and beauty.

Lost in his thoughts, Edward was startled by the ring of his phone. Glancing at the caller ID, he saw it was Rodney, his trusted assistant. Without hesitation, he picked up the call.

"Hello, Rodney. How are you?" Edward asked, trying to sound casual.

"I'm fine, boss. I got the news of your trip. Did you remember something?" Rodney's voice held a mix of curiosity and concern.

"Am I supposed to? What does my memory have to do with my travels?" Edward replied, puzzled by the question.

"That was your last trip before the accident," Rodney explained, his voice tinged with hesitation.
