Edward Anderson was indifferent to her feelings. He glanced coldly at Kallie, not only not helping her dry her tears, but even deliberately distancing himself from her.
The hopeful light in Kallie's eyes dimmed.
She shouldn't feel disappointed; after all, he was just a block of emotionless wood. Yet she couldn't help but love his indifferent, nonchalant demeanor.
Under Edward Anderson's cold gaze, Kallie lowered her head and wiped away her tears. She muttered, "Don't be angry. I wasn't asking you to do anything for me."
"Whatever you want, just ask, and if I can give it to you, I will. If you haven't decided yet, take your time. And when you're ready, let me know." After speaking, Edward Anderson returned to his desk to continue working.
Kallie knew that this was his way of dismissing her.
