Bella Scott took a sip of tea, her eyes downcast and expression softening.
Back then, she wanted revenge against Edward Anderson and Elyssa Scott, never considering she had a son the size of little Cindy from her private life, nor the fact that she was carrying another baby after divorcing Edward.
The smile on Charles White's face faded; he realized Bella wasn't joking.
"Didn't we agree to be together after we divorced? Why suddenly push me to another woman? Or is it because you look down on me for being divorced once?" Charles teased.
Bella pronounced each word: "You are an outstanding man, deserving of a woman you genuinely love. Marriage is no child's play; a loveless marriage won't last long."
Charles was about to blurt out that she was the woman he loved, but he held his tongue.
After that, the atmosphere grew awkward; Bella Scott had a lot on her mind and felt no urge to start a conversation.
