Edward Anderson just left, and Cecelia Anderson appeared: "My brother didn't give you a hard time, did he?"
"Not really. He said the engagement ceremony was postponed, and even if he has to get engaged one day, I don't have to be any bridesmaid." Bella Scott put her arm around Cecelia's shoulder: "In that case, Edward isn't all that bad!"
To bridge the gap between Edward and Cecelia, Cecelia had to be satisfied with Edward's behavior. Edward must have understood this, so he postponed the engagement ceremony. Otherwise, Cecelia's resentment towards Edward would grow deeper.
She didn't know when, but she had become very important to Cecelia, even more so than Edward.
Edward just said that it was because of her existence that he and his sister became estranged, and he wasn't wronging her on this matter.
Cecelia saw the injustice Bella suffered because of Edward and her dissatisfaction with him deepened. In the long run, it was not a good phenomenon.
