Edward Anderson became more and more certain of his speculation. He rushed back to the Andersons' home overnight, and the maid detailed everything about Cecelia Anderson and Bella Scott's visit.
Edward listened with a heavy heart and walked slowly towards the church.
Janae Smith was reading scriptures and looked very weak.
"What did you say to Cecelia this afternoon?" Edward went straight to the point and took the scriptures from Janae's hands.
Janae's expression was numb: "I said what needed to be said."
Although she was feverish and somewhat unconscious at the time, she remembered what she had said after the fever subsided.
She had kept this secret for too many years and desperately needed a way to let it out. Although it couldn't change anything, it was true that Cecelia had taken the place of her daughter.
Her precious daughter was still missing. Why should Cecelia enjoy everything that shouldn't belong to her?
