Bella Scott snapped out of her memories and replied, "Of course."
Edward Anderson pondered for a moment, then suddenly asked, "How much would it cost if I wanted Miss Camp to protect my child?"
Bella thought she had misheard, so she looked at Edward.
Edward decisively stopped the car by the roadside, stared intently at Bella, and said word by word, "You are the director of the syndicate, and I see you handling everything personally. I trust your abilities. I am not comfortable asking anyone else to protect my child. I wish to ask Miss Camp to protect them, just name the price!"
It took Bella a while to realize that Edward wasn't joking.
This man actually wanted her to protect his child?!
"You probably can't afford it!" She said coldly, her face solemn.
"Everything in the world has a price. The only thing I'm not lacking is money." In other words, Edward meant that he was not short of money.
