Liang Yi left Su Youyi at the mansion and went to the Divine Wind Commerce in the city center to retrieve Yin Hao's Storage Ring stored there. Afterward, he would return to the mansion and use the Transmission Array to head to Eastern Capital, then start his life of cultivation as a homebody on Youdao Mountain.
The Divine Wind Commerce would only set up in the busiest part of a city, and as for how much money it cost, they simply didn't care.
"I'm not envious at all!"
Liang Yi was acutely aware that money isn't omnipotent, but without money, one definitely can't do anything.
However, as he walked along, Liang Yi suddenly spotted some familiar faces in front of him – it was those from the Zhang Family.
"Tsk, is this a Luck value of 10? Could it actually be a full value of 100?" Liang Yi didn't want to court trouble, so he lowered his head, pretending not to see, and quietly blended into the crowd, hoping to sneak through unnoticed.
"Hey boy, that one called Zhang Ye, stop right there!" A furious shout rang out on the street, drawing disgruntled stares from the passersby – what's with yelling so loudly?
"You're looking for Zhang Ye, what does that have to do with me, Liang Yi?" Liang Yi continued walking as if nothing had happened.
It wasn't that Zhang Youqun had good eyesight; it was just that Liang Yi was too conspicuous. Saying he stood out in a crowd would be an understatement. Passersby looking at Liang Yi's appearance and demeanor, then comparing with themselves, felt that being one of the 'chickens' wasn't so bad after all!
Liang Yi ignored everything and, before Zhang Youqun could catch up, stepped into the grand entrance of the Divine Wind Commerce and disappeared amidst the overwhelming flow of customers.
"Damn it, that kid got away!" After a fruitless search, Zhang Youqun could only return with his henchmen, frustrated. He wouldn't dare cause trouble in Divine Wind Commerce.
"Sigh, what a hassle. Once I get back, I need to ask big brother Jiang if he has a Magical Treasure that can hide my face. Being too handsome is a curse too!" Liang Yi heaved a sigh of relief. He wasn't scared of the Zhang Family; he just found such trivial matters utterly uninteresting. After all, with big brother Jiang and Uncle Yuan willing to step in, there was no need for him to get involved.
He summoned a Maid and informed her that he had come to retrieve items stored in the Divine Wind Commerce. He handed her the unique talisman imprint set by Yin Hao, and shortly after, the ring was brought to him. He also bought a plain white mask to wear on his face.
Just like the Little Bamboo House, the Divine Wind Commerce had a chain throughout the continent and naturally had its unique features, with item storage being just one of them. Moreover, they had short-range, small Transmission Arrays, but these could only transport smaller items, unlike the large Transmission Arrays from the Immortal Dynasty, which have been left over from ancient times and later reinforced and renovated to transport large crowds. Nevertheless, they were still incredibly fast.
The Storage Ring was only of blue quality, far from comparing to the one his master had bestowed upon him, but it was sufficient for an average Cultivator.
"Oh ho? There's quite a bit in here!" Liang Yi was somewhat surprised as he opened the Storage Ring to check the spoils of battle.
Inside the ring, countless items were piled up, mostly spiritual coins, approximately 100,000. Originally, after completing the mission for Jiang Fufeng in his past life, Jiang Fufeng not only owed him a favor but also gave him a significant amount of spiritual coins. Liang Yi had planned to get some money from there.
But this time, it seemed the reward in coins had been replaced with favors from Yuan Shushan, something money can't buy. In the end, he made a killing.
"Cultivators from the Fourth Realm really live up to their reputation, having such a hefty family fortune." Liang Yi unabashedly accepted everything. So many spiritual coins – in his past life, he would have to kill countless Wind Cloud Leopards to earn that much.
"Alas, what a sin!"
Looking at the other items, there were daily necessities, a bunch of talisman jades with simple Daoist Skills sealed inside them, and a few jade tubes. Liang Yi checked them one by one, finding a purple, incomplete Devouring Spirit Scripture, the Great Dark Escape Technique, and a few blue Skill Books that he completely disregarded.
"Are these two things standard issue for the Devouring Spirit Sect?" Liang Yi remarked sarcastically. In the game, such monsters were looked down upon by players; their drops were all the same, with no thrill of good loot.
Within the ring, Yin Hao helplessly watched as his surroundings filled with many familiar items, on the verge of tears.
Staring at the seal on the last box inside the ring, Liang Yi took out the bottle containing Yin Lu's Divine Soul.
"Uh?" Liang Yi disguised his voice as Zhang Mazai, pointing at the box.
"Can we, can we negotiate not to open this one?" Yin Hao awkwardly glanced over at his personally treasured big baby.
"Oh? What unspeakable secrets are hidden inside? Spill the beans," Liang Yi's interest was piqued by his demeanor.
"It's just some personal collection of mine, definitely not worthy of Grandpa's attention," Yin Hao, even in his Divine Soul state, seemed a bit embarrassed.
"Open it!" Liang Yi didn't want to waste words with him, captives had no rights.
With no other choice, Yin Hao complied and unlocked the seal on the box.
"Hiss!" Upon seeing the contents of the box clearly, Liang Yi gasped in shock, taken aback by a box full of women's clothing.
"It's a personal preference, just a personal preference!" Yin Hao fawned.
"No need to say, I get it!"
Liang Yi was quite accepting of people with peculiar interests, reasoning anyone good-looking could be whatever gender they wanted. But a Divine Soul manifested uncle in his thirties with such interests? That he couldn't appreciate.
Yin Hao didn't know what Liang Yi was thinking. The clothes in the box were those of a girl he'd liked long ago, but as times changed, he hadn't seen her for a long while and could only reminisce through her belongings. Collecting such things was a guilty pleasure and rather important to him, hence he kept it sealed.
Liang Yi decisively plugged the bottle back into the box and resealed it, placing it at the very edge of the ring, planning to destroy it humanely when the opportunity arose.
Having dealt with the last of his business in Xunyang City, Liang Yi returned to the City Lord's mansion via another route.
"Senior Brother, all the resources needed to activate the Transmission Array are ready." Upon seeing Liang Yi return, Su Youyi shook off the children surrounding her and bounced over to Liang Yi to report.
"Brother Jiang is quite efficient, huh?" Liang Yi smiled as he handed over the mung bean cake he had bought on the way to Su Youyi, planning to check on the Transmission Array.
Holding the warm mung bean cake from her senior brother, combined with the thought of soon returning to the mountain to see her master, Su Youyi felt doubly happy!
Liang Yi and company arrived at a spacious area behind the City Lord's mansion, where Jiang Fufeng was directing guards to fill the Energy Spirit Stones needed to activate the Transmission Array, with five deep blue pillars arranged in a pentagram shape covering about half an acre.
"Has Brother Liang Yi finished dealing with his matters? Please wait a moment; we'll be ready shortly!" Jiang Fufeng had sensed Liang Yi's arrival as soon as he entered the door.
"Brother Jiang has worked hard."
"Ah, it's nothing, just that the Transmission Array is seldom used. The last time we used it to send Brother Yuan here, we exhausted the Spiritual Power and now we just need to refill with Energy Spirit Stones," Jiang Fufeng explained.
"Eh? Where's Uncle Yuan?" Liang Yi hadn't seen Yuan Shushan since he returned.
"He planned to return to Central State after you left, so he went straight to the Zhang Family as a guest," Jiang Fufeng emphasized the word "guest." Once Yuan Xihuan's health improved, Jiang Fufeng planned to personally visit the Zhang Family. Let those damn little brothers wait for their doom!
