Changing the Unchangeable

As Isabella and Alexander slipped away from the palace under the shroud of night, a distinct sense of déjà vu hung in the air. Their destination was the hidden refuge where Alexander had once held her captive. It was a place where, for a brief moment, their fates had been intertwined. Now, it became the sanctuary for a brief moment whilst they planned her next steps.

As they made their way toward the hideout Isabella took it in, it was as tacky on the outside as it was on the inside. The roof stood askew with the windows boarded shut. Patches of paint clung to the crumbling walls.

Not far from the shabby house was a vegetable garden that she did not notice last time. And as Alexander's horse slowed to a trot they passed the spot where she and Adrian had held their picnic before she returned to Casmir's side and lost her baby.
