Chapter 32: Cold as Ice, Warm as Fire

Elanor had spent two winters on the battlefield and during those times the war was usually a bit slower, but all the more vicious.

The weather could affect who would win and even demons seemed to slow down in the cold. A lack of supplies could make people miserable, and sicknesses were harder to contain.

All in all, what had once been a pleasant season defined by mugs of spiced cider by the fireplace quickly became the season Elanor hated with a burning passion.

Even now she was shivering and miserable as her and the demons stopped flying to make the rest of the way to a small demon encampment on foot. They’d flown as far as Kolkan had said was possible, doing their best to avoid the human armies.
