Chapter 7: Chapter Seven

*Brielle’s POV*

I think for a solid thirty minutes about what I saw Jonathan doing as I sit at the dinner table while everyone else finishes their dessert and continues discussing other business points. I can hear everyone talking, but I don’t honestly pay very much attention to what it is they’re saying. I’m too focused on what is going on in my mind.

What was Jonathan doing in the hallway looking at the cameras? Especially the cameras by my father’s study. What was he up to? Or was he even up to anything?

What was I thinking? It is Jonathan for crying out loud. He may not be an outright liar, at least from when we used to be together, but he definitely had a mischievous, puckish side. Still, something seemed different about the way he was standing and how he was watching the security system.

Was he checking for angles? I doubt it.

But if he was not checking for angles, what was he checking for?

I didn’t know.
