Malaki Crescent

I got her actual food. She hadn’t really eaten at the event, and she’d gotten fries and a drink when she was at the McDonalds waiting for me. We sat there for a while, just letting her rest a moment. Then the two of us got up.

“How’d you get here?” she asked. “I don’t see your car.”

I winced. “I uh, took an uber.”

She raised an eyebrow. “Why?”

“I may have gotten a little drunk after our little excursion to the witch’s house. Trust me, it isn’t something I make a habit of.”

She frowned. “You got drunk because of me?”

I placed a hand on her shoulder. “I got drunk because I don’t know what the h*ll I’m doing. That’s why I got drunk. Not because of you. Anyway, I usually only drink during the weekends. And not all of the time anyway. But I felt like sh*t watching you go off with him after everything we’d done.”
