We went back to the college. I didn’t curse anyone. But I didn’t stay with Malaki. I couldn’t be in that room with him. It reminded me of everything we had had and everything that we had lost. Malaki was surprisingly okay with me moving out, despite the last time. Whatever fears he had about someone hurting me seemed to be gone.
It was weird though.
When I got back to the dorm, Dawn kept on avoiding me. Anna had suddenly disappeared. Sinead and Keavy got really uncomfortable whenever I asked questions about where she had gone. I was mostly by myself now. I focused on my studies, and I went class. But I barely felt like I retained anything at all. All I could think about was the blurry memories of my miscarriage.
