“Are you sure about this?” Milo asked for what must have been the millionth time when we pulled up to the college.
“Yes, I’m sure,” I said, “now stop being such a mom.”
Milo laughed. “Look, I’ve got to look out for you. You dropped out of school after the whole Iris thing. You’ve been moping around for months. I can’t even remember the last time that you shifted….”
I sighed. “It’s fine. I’ve just been sick. It happens sometimes with werewolves. I’ll get over it.”
“This is a human university.” Milo waggled his eyebrows. “It’s practically enemy territory.”
“They’re not our enemies!” I growled. “Goddess, we need to realize that there’s only one planet and stop pitting ourselves against each other. If we did that, maybe we could actually get of the people that are making it bad for us.”
“And those are?”
“The Billionaires, of course,” I told him.
Milo snorted. “Right. Because we’re totally living the hard knock life.”
