At The Pool II

I knew that voice.

Even if I was woken up suddenly with a bucket of water and told to point out whoever had the voice, I wouldn't fail at all. As I said earlier, it is impossible not to know the voice of your tormentors.

The voice belonged to the first son of our lycan king. The voice belonged to Adam Brekan.

What the hell was he doing here? I thought, afraid to turn around and look at him, my mind already reeling with thoughts on how to escape from the pool.

For god sake I was only wearing a bikini, and my clothes, or rather Naomi's sports wear wasn't anywhere close. As a matter of fact, she had dumped it into the washing machine immediately I had done away with it.

"What are you doing here, Adam? What are you all doing here? Shouldn't classes still be in session?" That was Naomi.

And as much as her confidence inspired me, I was beginning to think it might be the death of us. What if Adam decided to drown me here? And why had she mentioned you all? Oh my god. I bit my lips, more hesitant now to turn around, even when Naomi asked me if I was okay.

"Why wouldn't she be okay? She is cruising in your pool. I still don't get why you had chosen her to be your lapdog. Timothy, what do you think?"

That was Claire.

She was here too? Fuck me! I screamed in my mind, a bit stupefied that I couldn't move or rather swim an inch away from them. But I wish I could. I would keep on swimming, even for miles, so that I could get away from them.

"Noami, take your friend out of the pool. I want to drain the water. It has surely been contaminated and we need to swim now." That was Timothy, Naomi's brother.

I noticed that his voice, though cold, was lower than usual. It must be the effect of having come under the roof of his house . He just couldn't help it. It translated that I might not be bullied here. I might be free here.

The hope that shined through me at that possibility of that statement had me smiling out widely in happiness before I could stop myself.

"Okay, this is weird. Why is she smiling? I don't think anyone said anything funny. Or does she think she is free to do as she likes here?" That was the last triplet, Daniel. He said that just at the same moment when he fastened his hand on my hair and pulled sharply causing me to scream out in pain.

Suddenly, I heard the sound of a resounding slap from somewhere. Did Naomi just…? No. no. She wouldn't do that. But the silence and her next statement confirmed my fears.

"What do you think you are doing coming to my house and abusing my friend? Are you a psycho?" She had asked Daniel, who though I couldn't see his face since I had refused to turn around, was definitely stunned as I was, as the other pool visitors were. I didn't even know how many there were.

Daniel didn't give a reply to Naomi's question, instead he released his grip on my hair. And just when I was about to sigh in relief that the scalding pain was almost gone, I received a hot knock on my head. I screamed out in pain again, howbeit attuned to the next words of Daniel Brekan.

"I can't touch you because of family and all, but for whatever you do to me, she will be on the receiving end. Now, get the hell out of here with the playtoy." He commanded, knocking my head again when Naomi refused to move.

"Naomi pls…" I pleaded, a tear slipping away from my eyes. I must have been stupid thinking that I would be free from their bullying clutches here.

Naomi looked at me, gritting her teeth in anger when she saw the tear slipping from my eyes in drops.

She bowed her head, and I knew that she was debating whether to go head to head with the lycan, but after a while, my safety won, because in the next minute, she held my hand, and gestured that we leave the pool through the other side.

My eyes still away from the group, I swam with Naomi to the other end of the pool vertically, aware of the gasps that fell from their mouths when I stepped out of the pool.

I was a bit flustered when I turned around and looked at them. It was the whole bullying congregation. And they were gaping at me.

"Like what you see?" Naomi asked, smirking, unaware that she had just made me blush beet read especially when I saw the surprised and dazed look on the faces of the guys in the group, Timothy and the triplet included. Adam was staring like he hadn't seen me before.

Perhaps Naomi was right. Perhaps if I dressed well, and took my style seriously, perhaps the bullying would reduce.

Just perhaps.

I wasn't ready to believe anything readily, not after Daniel's knock. But I am overly willing and excited to go shopping with Naomi by the weekend now. I am willing to try.

I heard a snort and almost hissed, but for a control which had been installed all these time in the face of bullying.

That was Claire though. She was of course not pleased with the attention I was getting. But I had managed to see the surprise on her face right before she turned into a mean bitch again.

"What are you standing there looking at? Shouldn't you be leaving already?" she asked, placing her hand on her waist, biting her lips in anger when she darted her eyes between Adam and me. He was still staring.

"Naomi, get that thing out of our sight!" she screamed then, causing Naomi to burst out in laughter, and I held a smile that I am not sure I would be able to resist if I stayed here any longer. I needed to get out of here.

Holding Naomi's hand, I did just that, deliberating adding a sway to my hips as I and Naomi sauntered across the yard in the direction of the living room.
