Chapter 5: A Glimpse

-3rd POV-

A white hallway. Sunlight seeped in, coloring the pure color in a golden, yellow hue. At the end of that hallway, stood a familiar figure.

With long golden hair, a short stature and yellow eyes, Melissa stood there. But within those eyes, were no color. They were unfocused, dead, empty.

*Click, clack, click clack.*

On the other end of the hallway, a tall figure slowly approached. She wore a white uniform, near her abdomen was 4 gold buttons that kept the clothing together. A similarly colored stellated tetrahedron was placed on the upper right of her chest, and under that was a badge with a blue strap connecting it to the uniform. On her collar are two wide stars with the same golden color on the left and right. She had long sky-blue hair which was violet on the inner side, long bangs that covered her left eye with the lone blue eye on the right. The halo had a white ring with a blue star, this person, was the General Student Council President.

Melissa and the GSC President stood opposite of each other in this sunset bathed corridor. None spoke a word, and only observed the other. Neither of them held a firearm, Melissa still held her emotionless gaze, while the GSC President stared at Melissa with her bright blue eyes.

"When will this farce end?" Melissa's voice echoed, but silence was all that remained.

"Not gonna respond 'President'?" Despite all the emptiness present in Melissa, annoyance dripped from the way she spoke.

The GSC President continued to stare into Melissa's eyes, saying nothing and doing nothing. This further irritated the physically unresponsive Melissa. "So what, just nothing hah? If your here for answers to your 'questions', I'm not answering."

*Click, Clack*

Unexpectedly, the President moved forward slowly towards Melissa. "What? Gonna force me? Tch..." Melissa clicked her tongue and armed herself with a simple Beretta M9. She quickly aimed it towards the approaching girl and placed her finger on the trigger.

But without a care in the world, she continued walking.

While Melissa, finally showed signs of emotion. She grit her teeth while a shine showed within her pupils. "C'mon, stop! I'm seriously warning you..."

*Click*

As the steps echoed closer...

*Clack*

The more emotional she felt.

*Tap*

The barrel of the handgun now placed on the President's chest. The firearm shaking within the hand of Melissa while the cause simply smiled towards her. After all this silence...

"Mel." She finally spoke. The nickname caused 'Mel' to flinch and her pupils to shrink.

"Take care of this place for me, okay?" 'Mel' unconsciously blinked, the scene before her changing. The originally unharmed GSC President had the color red dye parts of her clothing.

Her firearm quickly dropped from her hand as she quickly stepped forward. But as she tried to touch the injured girl, their surroundings changed and she was gone. 'Mel' now stood alone atop the highest building in all of Kivotos, the Sanctum Tower.

The sun was gone, the stars alone illuminated the sky and below, the city reflected that. Looking further, she saw a vast desert, in another direction a snowy tundra, another was a dilapidated city. There were many areas that made this place already as beautiful as it was.

She blinked again, this time she was seated and in her hands seemed to be a simple tablet. But for some strange reason she knew, that this was so much more. "The Shittim Chest...", she muttered. What surrounded her was an office, she knew this place to be 'Schale'.

'Mel' got up from the chair, but her vision shifted again to a desert with machinery all around, and a highly complex sphere of parts. Several humanoid robots stood around it armed. She checked her hand and in it was a Mark XIX Desert Eagle loaded in .50 AE.

Looking back up, she heard gunfire and instinctively moved her head with her eyes closed. But after opening them again, what was in front of her changed.

It towered over her, a massive body lined with many different symbols. Opening it's mouth a scorching heat could be felt while wind pushed against her. Dilating her pupils, a laser beam launched towards her. She closed her eyes once more while blocking her face and couldn't help but gasp, falling onto her forearms onto the floor.

It was strangely hard to breath, but opening her eyes didn't make it any better, as there didn't seem to be any clear way to see with fog surrounding her. Looking around is what appeared to be a theme park, on the left she caught glimpse of a strange being on a large ball. Further away, atop a building was a strange bird looking creature.

Then quickly, she was enveloped by the fog with her sight changing. It was nauseating, made her want to puke, but she couldn't.

So she forced herself to stand up, and in doing so, she returned to where she once was. A lone hallway, but this time, there was no light, but a haunting darkness. The area was broken and dilapidated, pillars crumbled apart and glass shattered. She couldn't even see the other end of the hallway.

So she turned around and saw what appeared to be the inside of a church. Clutching her already churned stomach, she continued onwards. But as she got closer towards the end of the area, a large red cloak rose from the ground. Long limbs stretched across the room and a bright object behind the figure made it seem 'Holy'.

Melissa could only watch the being in silence and wonder what the hell was going on. The light soon grew an blinded her. Shielding her eyes wasn't enough, but as it died down, she found herself standing atop an ocean of stars.

Looking up she saw several constellations and lines. As this sight intrigued her, a voice finally resounded after all that she'd been through. She turned around and only saw a pink, female humanoid figure with long hair.

"Hi~"

Melissa's mouth was left agape, leaving the taste of iron in her mouth. She didn't realize it, but she was bleeding internally before.

The figure had lifted Melissa's chin with a single hand without her even realizing it, but with this motion, she was staring into what appeared to be eyes. The two had locked eyes.

"Your quite the cutie fufu~" The voice was soft and sweet like ice cream. The hand that had touched her chin was warm and caring. Melissa couldn't formulate a response.

"It's such a shame... with the current state your in, I'd say that your going to pass soon." Disappointment filled being, and Melissa didn't respond, as if already accepting this information.

"What... do you mean...?" Confusion filled Melissa, but as equal as that confusion, exhaustion washed over her. Yet, she was speaking not within her mind, but unconsciously.

"Ara, it appears that it's already come." The figure lightly laid Melissa down onto this ocean of stars.

"But... I haven't... kept my promise..." 'Mel" fought off the fatigue as best she could.

"I... If only... I had more... time..."

"... Then, would you like that?" The figure questioned. Hovering slightly over 'Mel'

"Yes... For her..." The image of the GSC President flashed through her mind. But the need to sleep was getting to her. With her eyes closing, she heard the being once more before drifting off.

"Then... You have my blessing. Keep your promise, and fight for all that you can. I, #####, give my word."

Then as quickly as she fell asleep.

She just as quickly woke up.

Melissa, dressed as Christina stared into the ceiling. Well, it was only her face and make up, everything else was casual clothing.

"Was that... me?" Sweat covered her face and her eyes changed to the color green with question pupils.

Woooo, unnecessary backstory dump!
