Jealousy?

The next day I went to school like usual. When I got out of my house, I saw Kumi waiting for me. She offered to walk to school together, and I happily agreed.

While we were walking Kumi asked me about Chizuru, which caught me a little off guard.

"So I noticed you been talking to Chizuru a lot lately"

"Where did you hear that from?"

"I didn't hear it from anyone. You just make things really obvious. Like…ah, That one time when I saw you and her walking up the stairs together."

"I just had to ask her something, that's all."

"Really? Well, if "that's all", you wouldn't mind if you could tell me what you asked her."

She trying to force the answer out of me

"It was about that time I saw her at university, remember?"

"Oh that's right, I was meaning to ask her about it too. But that still doesn't get over the fact that you still have been talking to her a lot."

"Well, she told me that she works there and I got interested and asked her what it's like, who do you work for, and what do you do? And eventually we just started talking more and became friends."

"Oh…ah..ok? I guess. But wow, I didn't know she works at the university. Huh?I wonder why she didn't tell me though? I should ask her when I see her again."

It's been a while since that incident with that creep, so I thought that I should tease her a bit.

"You've been asking about me and Chizuru a lot, despite being so popular with boys in the first place. Are you by chance…jealous?"

Kumi got caught off guard and immediately started blushing red.

"W-What!? T-that's different, besides you know that I was just…was just…"

"Was just what?...was just jealous perhaps?"

"O-Okay! Okay! I was jealous! There, happy now!?"

She ran off to the school gate but before getting too far away from me she turned back, her face still blushing and pouting from before.

"Jerk!"

I rushed up to her, while apologizing, but she just turned away and ignored me when I got up to her.

We got to class and she was still mad at me from before. At this point I thought that I should probably stop trying to tease her because most of the time this happens.

Class started and ended as usual, while lunch came and Kumi already decided to go with her friends. She usually offers to eat with me but I guess she's still mad at me, which surprises me because she nevers got mad at me for this long before, at least not over something like this.

When I got my lunch at the cafeteria, I saw Chizuru eating alone. I decided to go eat with her and maybe do some planning along the way. While I was eating however, I caught a glance at Kumi's table and noticed that she was staring daggers at me. I tried to text her that it's not what it looks like but she wasn't convinced and instead she got up from her table and came to ours.

"Hi, Izumi"

She said with a sinister smile.

"Hi…ah kumi"

I was getting really nervous because almost everyone was staring at us. That and the fact that the atmosphere got really intense and awkward, while all we just did was stare at each other and quietly eat our lunch.

After that really awkward lunch was over, class started and ended again as per usual.

I was taking my shoes out of my shoe locker, when I saw Kumi walking home alone. I walked up to her and tried to explain why I was eating lunch alone with Chizuru.

"Look I…uh…just thought that since you were mad at me, I should give you some space to clear your mind first."

"So, instead of doing something about me being mad, you decided to eat lunch alone with another girl?"

"W-Well, I…uh…okay I'm sorry. How about this? To make it up to you, we can go to your favorite takoyaki place and get as many as you want, all on me."

Kumi got quiet, which made me extremely worried. But then…

"You think that simply getting me food would be enough to cheer me up? Well you're right! But not only are you paying, you're feeding me all of it. Got it!"

She said pointing at me with a stern look on her face.

"Ah w-what!? W-What if someone sees us!?"

"G-O-T I-T?"

"U-Uh okay."

When we finished buying all the takoyaki, I looked at my wallet and saw I spent about 500¥ buying her takoyaki. She, on the other hand, was happily walking while I fed her one by one.

When we finally parted ways she told me she'll forgive me and told me to never do something like that again. I promised her I wouldn't and we said our goodnights.

When I got to my room and opened the door, only to find that the lights were open and Chizuru was there looking at me with a horrified face.

"Atahari…How did you do it?."
