A surprise date?

I suddenly woke up from the dream after he mentioned Kumi. Before I could even think about what just happened, I dialed Chizuru.

"Yo, Chizuru, is this you?" 

"Hello, yes, this is the Chizuru residence Izumi represents."

"Wow, how polite, you don't have to do that with me you know?"

"Force of habit, anyways what can i do for you"

"Change of plans, I'm gonna delay our plans for a bit. I just got some new information that was…quite interesting. I'll disconnect myself from you for the time being."

"I see, so what do you want me to do for the time being"

"Keep an eye on Hanaguri for now"

On the weekend Kumi message me 

[Hey, do you have any plans for tomorrow?]

[No, at least not that I know of.]

[Great then! Let's go on a date!] 

[Sure, but where to?]

[I'll send you the location, just make sure you arrive on time!] 

She sounded awfully excited for some reason, like she was planning something, but I didn't put too much thought into it.

I arrived at the place we agreed on 30 mins earlier only to find Kumi arrived first. She saw me staring at her and walked up to me.

"I knew you would come here early, so this time I actually changed the time and got here ahead of you!...Um Daiki, you there?"

I was left there speechless. I haven't seen her in casual clothes in a while, and adding what just happened to me the other day, I couldn't help but just stare at her. She was wearing makeup today and smelled like perfume, which came as a surprise to me because she always said she never likes doing too much makeup. Her lips were red and glittering from lipstick, she was neatly done, her dress perfectly matching her personality, and the smell of her perfume was extremely arousing.

"U-um sorry, it's just that I noticed that I did alot for today…"

"Oh yeah, I wanted today to be special that's all…"

It was silent for a moment.

"You look cute"

"H-huh? R-really thanks"

"A-anyways, where do you want to go first?"

"Oh right, c'mon this way"

She grabbed my hand and we went off. I didn't know what to expect but before I knew we were at the movie theater. Kumi turned to me and asked.

"So, Which one do you want to watch?"

"Um…I'll go with anything you want."

"C'mon I always pick. I want to see what you want to watch this time"

"Ok, if you insists, but don't blame me if you don't like it"

I looked around and didn't know what I really wanted to watch, so I picked a random one.

"That one."

"Eh, Are you sure?"

"Yeah, it seem really interesting"

"Oh ok then, As you wish because today your the prince"

"Ehh? What do you mean by prince"

"EHh. it was nothing, forget about it"

The movie I picked was a horror movie and I completely forgot about the fact that although Kumi seemed really strong, she is actually deathly scared of ghosts.

The movie started and I saw Kumi was shaking quite a bit, so I asked her.

"Are you gonna be fine?"

"Y-yeah, I'm fine"

"We can always cancel it and watched something else if you want"

"N-No, I can do this, I'll be fine"

Sufficient to say, she was not fine. During the entire movie she was shaking and hugging my arm, sometimes even to the point of covering her face. Not to say that I'm complaining or anything. As a matter of fact I couldn't focus much on the movie because she was being so cute doing all that, add the fact that the perfume she was wearing smelled really good, I actually had a good time to say the least.

When we walked out, Kumi kept clinging on to my arm and shaking a bit.

"See, I knew you were not fine."

"Of course I'm not fine!You know I'm scared to watch those types of things!"

"Sorry but I did say we could've always watched something else"

After Kumi calmed down, we continued our date. It was a really long one. We were out for almost the entire evening, and it was about to turn dark. We were still sitting in a cafe at the amusement park as if we were waiting for something, when it became dark out. Kumi said

"Oh, it's time,come Daiki. Follow me"

I was curious as to where she is taking me

"Kumi, where are we going? It's already dark out, your mum's gonna kill me."

"It's okay, we're almost there"

We arrived at the Ferris wheel in the center of the amusement park. 

"It's already closed, why are we here?"

Kumi ignored my question and slowly approached the guard and talked about something. After they finished, the guard looked at me and gave me a thumbs up as if he was praying me good luck. Then the guard shouted out to me.

"Ayy young man, we're still open. You can go on a ride! I'll cover for you guys so take your time!"

I looked confused then Kumi turned and winked at me. We got into the Ferris wheel and went for a ride. But yet I still didn't understand the meaning of all of this. Kumi then suddenly brought out a blindfold and asked

"Daiki, do you mind putting this blindfold on? I have a surprise you"

"Ehh? Sure, I guess?" 

Kumi then stood up and walked up behind me putting the blindfold on

"Are you sure you can't see anything?"

"Yeah, I can't see anything"

After she asked the question I heard a noise as if she was taking something out of her bag and then she said

"You can take off your blindfold now"

I open my eyes to see Kumi holding a ⅙ piece of a cake and a box of mochi

"What is this?"

"HAH?! Isn't today your birthday" 

Kumi looked a little panicked thinking she might have got the wrong date for my birthday.

"No, no, no it is my birthday. I just forgot. I never usually celebrated. This is a surprise"

"Phew, don't talk too much before the cake melts, and blow out your candle already. I want to eat the cake too!"

My body was filled with joy and happiness that someone actually celebrated my birthday and surprised me with it too…
