On their way to the store, the car was filled with Berry's excited singing, though Stuart didn't know why he was so happy when he had been lazily dragging his feet earlier. Ever since they stepped out of the house, Berry had been super energetic, singing, playing games all by himself since he could not distract Stuart, and making jokes that he would laugh at himself. Stuart couldn't help the smile that lingered on his lips because everything felt so right at this moment. The snow, the warm glow of the sun, the sound of cars and people moving past them, and most importantly, Berry's noise.
"Would you look at that!" Berry's excited voice came again, pointing at something out of the car that he expected Stuart to look at, but Stuart could only manage a single glance before fixing his eyes back on the road. "That tree looks so beautiful, and the flowers too. Do you know their names?" Berry asked, his sudden interest in flowers and trees making Stuart smile again.
