Amden was stunned hearing the rumbling sound of the beast's mouth and what it said. His eyes flickered in surprise and an expression of genuine surprise was etched on his face.
He shouted, "Who are you?"
The beast remained quiet for few moments. Amden felt that he should have not spoken and should have escaped quickly.
The beast again rumbled, "It seems that like my younger self you also don't remember anything. Such is destiny."
It said, "You won't need this soul mark, Young Lord. It is my destiny to serve you, to stand by your side. Our souls are connected in manners that no one could understand. Until we meet again."
With this the beast sighed and before Amden could understand, darkness took over him and he lost consciousness.
The next when Amden opened his eyes hie found himself lying flat in the vast snow field. He felt his entire body stiff.
