Scott walked back to the football stadium as he was only there to see Dwayne's final part of the game. Jim questioned where he was and Scott was going to make an excuse for his absence. However, he realized that Jim had a huge trust in him, so Scott told him everything about being captured, was on a chase as Troy tried to kill Scott with his car, and about his death as Troy was burnt like an overcooked roast beef.
Jim didn't expect Troy to die. Their plan was to put Troy down and stop his abuse towards the students, but not by killing him. The final game of the season ended with Dwayne's team losing to the opposing team. Once the game was over, Jim then told Dwayne of what happened. He was shocked to hear about Troy's death and started empathizing with him as he was loyal to any football players even if his position was terminated.
Meanwhile, John at the mansion dug up the body that used to be Troy's. However, John didn't dig his grave in the nearest graveyard, but instead on the lawn of his mansion. John knows that the person, whose body was used by Troy, was someone who he's familiar with. But who?
Laura also found out about Troy's death and started crying like a baby. "H-He was the Teddy Bear that'll always be there for me when I needed it!"
Two weeks had passed and a memorial was set up for Troy as everyone in Sunshine Valley was attending the funeral. Although Scott and John personally knew what happened to Troy's death, John tried to mislead the people suggesting that Troy was killed by getting hit by a truck as he tried to honor the school's last game of the season by heading to the game. The memorial was set up at John's mansion as his mansion was filled with a dark theme.
People including Scott, Jim and Dwayne attended his funeral not because he was very supportive of John, but instead of feeling upset for John's abuse towards Troy leading him to his death. Everyone in the town had put a flower on Troy's coffin as well as Scott. Once Scott put a flower on Troy's coffin, both Scott and John looked at each other as they knew what was happening to each other. John wanted Scott dead as he believed that he killed Troy, while Scott wanted to end John's nightmare as he made Troy kill Ashley.
They were both in distrust of each other and gave each other angry stares as Scott walked away from Troy's coffin.
Once everyone put their flowers on Troy's coffin, John then descended his coffin to the ground inside the fences of his mansion with a statue of Troy above his grave. Everyone felt the sadness about his death as everyone saw him as a strong man who led the best football team in Sunshine Valley.
The next day after the funeral, the whole school was quiet as they couldn't forget about the death of Troy. Even John, the King of High School, wasn't speaking a lot as he felt upset about his best friend's death. Even Sunny, Sunshine High's mascot wasn't seen anywhere as his happy costume would just ruin the moment.
The sadness didn't stop there however. Until winter break, the whole school was silent until the day before winter break. Instead of John being on the intercom like he usually does, Principal Dover was instead on the mic.
"Attention all students. You guys were expecting John to be here, but instead it's me Principal Dover. I just want to let you know that although we lost someone important to us, I just want you guys to enjoy your winter break and have the time to recover from what happened to Troy. I know some of you guys are upset about this and I am too, but Troy will never be forgotten in Sunshine High. Have a good break." The mic then came off.
Many people never cared about Troy as they'll never forgive them for what he did last month, while others tend to miss him more as they denied what he said on the intercom.
Meanwhile, Scott, Jim, and Dwayne met up once again before winter break start.
"So guys this is it. We're finally going on break." Scott wearing his scarf.
"Yeah. I can finally enjoy a place where I can finally feel like I'm not freezing to death like I was in that old shed."
"Same here. I can't wait to tell my parents about how I managed to get my football position. Maybe I can go to a top tier college with my football skills." Dwayne then looked at Scott.
"Hey Scott. Do you plan on going to college?" Dwayne questions Scott.
"No. I actually don't know what I want to do after HIgh School. I was supposed to join Major League Baseball, but I don't think they'll accept those who beat up another student in his old High School and has been detained for a whole week." Scott then put on his gloves.
"Scott, don't say that. I was framed by Troy and I still believe I can go to a good college. The past shouldn't describe you Scott. You should focus on right now and see what the future will hold." Dwayne wants Scott to feel better.
"Same here. I'm really hoping that my grades are high enough to get me into Yale. However, I also want to connect with my family more so I can feel like a good son and brother when all of this is over. And maybe try to find out what my actual name is."
Scott then finished wearing his jacket and other cosmetics. "Guys, a lot has happened these past few months. Let's just try to enjoy our break. We've been through enough."
"Yeah you're right Scott." Jim and Dwayne both saying at the same time.
"Anyways. Jim since you live by yourself and don't have anyone during the holidays." Scott pulled something out of his backpack. It was a gift.
"Merry Christmas Jim. I know you want to be with your family during the holidays and I want to do what I can to make you feel the holiday joy, while trying to find your family."
Jim started to tear up a little bit. "Thank you Scott. This means a lot to me. I hope I can find my family soon." Jim then grabbed the gift and put it in his bag.
"And Dwayne. I am happy that we became friends ever since we met at the library and can relate as we're both athletes."
"Thanks Scott. Hope we go through another adventure next year."
The school bell then rang as it was finally winter break. "Well guys, winter break finally started." Scott looked at the bell.
"Have a good break you guys!" Scott walked away from Jim and Dwayne.
"You too!" Jim and Dwayne waved goodbye at them.
As Scott came outside of the door, it seemed like it started snowing with a snowflake hitting Scott's nose. He then looked at the sky to see the gray clouds and the snow coming down.
"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas." Scott looked at the sky.
Meanwhile back at John's mansion. It was very quiet in the building. Although the Christmas decorations were set up, John never left his room after the death of Troy or as he sees it as "Jonathan." Most of the time, John would spend his days drinking whiskey and watching his fireplace with nothing distracting him. Until winter break started.
"John my sweetie! I'll be going Christmas shopping! Would you like anything, my love!" Laura knocked on the door with a big smile on her face.
However, John didn't respond as he was so engulfed in the death of someone who he's with for a long time.
"Alright then, I'm heading out! I love you babe!" Laura then left the house.
As she walked to the nearest stores in Sunshine Valley, she started to cough again, but her coughs were worse than when she was coughing at the football stadium.
"Oh geez, it's starting to get really cold! And yay it's snowing! I should buy a nice sweater for myself!" Ashley then went on her way again.
It was finally the evening on a Christmas day and Scott was enjoying hot chocolate and peanut butter cookies, while listening to Mariah Carey's Christmas song.
The Christmas was filled with gifts under the bed and Mrs. Smith was wearing her ugly Christmas sweater.
"Sweetie, don't you want to wear the Christmas sweater that I made you?"
"No thanks Moms. I prefer to wear a dress shirt than that ugly sweater. No offense."
"It's okay sweetie. It's called an ugly sweater after all." Mrs. Smith laughed a little bit.
Mrs. Smith then brought some gifts from under the tree. "Merry Christmas Scott. I'm really grateful that you made a lot of friends and it seems like you are fitting in well in this town." Mrs. Smith gives the gifts to Scott.
Scott opened up his gifts and looks like he got some new clothes for the winter, the new wireless earbuds, and the baseball that used to belong to Scott's father.
"Although your father isn't here for Christmas, I think he'll give you his old baseball when he was in Major League Baseball and I want you to have it."
"Thanks mom." Scott looked at the ball and thought of his father a lot.
Although Scott hated his father, he somewhat misses him as he vaguely remembers the time he had with him ever since he was little. He wishes that he could see him again at some point.
"I'm going to head into my room mom. Thanks for the gifts!" Scott then walked upstairs into his room.
"No problem. I'll be down here when you need it."
Scott then went into his room and looked outside of the window looking at the stars.
Meanwhile, John finally came out of his room and spent some time in the living room with Laura. However, he was still upset not just by Troy's death, but the person's body who was used by Troy.
"Merry Christmas babe! I baked you these gingerbread man cookies and wore this cute Christmas lingerie. Maybe we can have some more fun in your room if you know what I'm saying." Laura offers John a cookie.
"Get off of me you fucking bitch!" John smacks the plate of cookies off of Laura's hand.
"I thought Christmas would make me feel better, but it doesn't! I'm going to head to my room." John leaves Laura alone in the living room.
"Don't worry babe! I promise to make more cookies!" Laura smiles at John as he walks off.
Suddenly, Laura started coughing once again. But it was worse. She started to cough out a little bit of blood as she looked at her palm seeing the blood on her hand. However, she tried to ignore it and stay happy since it's Christmas.
John went back to his room and brought up another bottle of whiskey. For most of the time while in his room, he drank a total of fifty whiskey bottles that had piled up in the corner of his room.
Before opening the bottle however, Scott started shaking. He started crying. And soon. He was on the verge of having a mental breakdown.
John threw his bottle to the wall, broke everything that was around him and started screaming to the top of his lungs. "NO!NO!NO!NO!NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" John screamed hysterically.
He destroyed half of his things in his room collapsing to the ground looking outside of his window.
Scott on the other hand also kept looking at the window.
"SCOTT SMITH!"
"JOHN DECKER!"
"I swear to you Troy."
"I promise to you Ashley."
"I WILL TAKE HIM DOWN NO MATTER WHAT!" both yelling at the sky through their windows
Scott and John were now at war with each other. Troy's death had sparked some questions that weren't fully answered and also awakened John as his paradise is slowly falling apart. With what the new year will bring them, they will cross a path that they'll never turn back. Things will never be the same as they were before. This is Sunshine High, a place where the Sunshines will always last forever and forever.
Or will they.
