An Ominous Feeling (3)

Alex raised a hand and knocked on the closed door before him. "You may enter," came the loud and clear voice from the other side.

Opening the door, Alex entered into the office of his childhood friend and Lord, not to mention brother-in-law as well. "Greetings, your highness."

"Drop the formalities, we're alone."

A crooked grin found its way onto Alex' face. "How have you been, Carl?" His voice was languid and friendly, all hints of stuffy politeness gone.

Alex had been away for the past few weeks working on a mission that his darling brother-in-laws sent him on. The two brothers, even though they hadn't communicated with each other on the matter, had similar concerns over the same thing-the murder of the Academy professor.

Carlton had found the timing of the Academy's professor's death suspicious. While Remi found the lack of autopsy and poor investigation suspicious. Alex had to agree with them, especially since the two had excellent gut feelings.
