Deliverance (5)

It was the second day since Remi had been freed from the church. It was their first day truly exploring the city-which was something that Demian really did not want to do since it was literally putting Remi's life in jeopardy.

Demian tightened his grip on the hand he held in his. His eyes scanned the bustling city streets for any signs of Holy Knights, mercenaries, or assassins.

"Beautiful Miss!" A vendor selling handcrafted jewelry hollard out to them. "I have a lariat that will accentuate your lovely neck!"

Remi smiled politely but did not make any moves to go near the stall.

"Handsome Sir! A perfume for your lovely wife?!" Another vendor called out.

"Maybe we should have just stayed in today," Remi mumbled, a frown tugging the corners of his lips.

Demian cast a side glance at his lover. He could understand all the extra attention that they were receiving from vendors and passersby alike.
