Sitting in a lotus position, Jihan was bored.
Yesterday he had thought that he would be taken towards the 'Apple island' or maybe ask for the payment to take him to it, but for some reason the old tribal leader had smiled just like an evil tuition teacher would and sent him away on the pretext of him being weak.
'Well, she said nothing wrong.'
But Jihan knew he had no time for leisure. To be honest in the novel it was very easy for Kim Hyesung to accomplish this quest, after all he had a freaking dragon helping him, plus let's not forget he was already an S rank by then of course the typical Male lead halo of very common of romance tropes was also fulfilling it's job to the fullest.
To be honest Jihan had no concrete plan he had just planned to work it through by relying on his 'excessive' star points for now.
He won't have died he was sure of it.
'But I am sure to die if I keep sitting here doing nonsense!'
"Oi, weird human, focus your energy on what I am saying."
"Ah, yes."
Jihan looked at Biru who was teaching him the method to connect to the 'spirits around him' that could guide him to what he was supposed to do. In simpler terms it was like having some sort of 'higher self' guide you. Jihan felt like he needed some physical strength no this, he already has the best direction guiding ma-
"How one uses their higher selves or how one's higher self guides you is different for every one, Jihan."
Jihan flinched at the old nasally old voice, looking back at the wrinkled old tribal leader smiling kindly upon him he wondered wether she could read his thoughts or something.
'Well not that can I do something about it.'
Putting his focus back on the energy circulation Jihan recited the lines that he was supposed to chant alongside it.
"Facing the eastward sun I inhale,
The southward is where I hold my breath,
Facing the eastward drowning sun I exhale,
The icy northward winds are where I hold my breath"
And so on.
Soon Jihan felt something growing warm on his stomach. After a few minutes of continuous chanting Jihan couldn't bear this heat anymore.
Confused by his reactions Biru and the tribal leader came close to him to check his condition, they watched as he moved his shirt over to check the stomach area.
'...Why is this red tattoo turning red hot?'
Jihan watched as the tattoo pulsated red hot like some creature on his own and felt slightly creeped out.
"Oh my Disciple-nim, do tell me what this is?"
Looking up Jihan felt embarrassed being watched like a strange creature that was being stared at the zoo just when he opened his mouth to explain why when a sudden notification sound rang in his phone.

Jihan felt sort of glad when he saw the upgradable tag, plus a C rank talent in itself was a big thing, considering the fact that now his status was unblocked, now he felt he was ready to face the main quest to some extent. He felt slightly giddy at the thought of meeting the original characters, Sighing Jihan closed his phone and looked down at the tattoo that was calming down slowly and looked up at the tribal leader smiling widely at him.
"Looks like you have learned the way of the spirits."
Jihan nodded and proceeded to check it out himself. Putting a hand to cover his right eye he looked around and flinched.
'Is it not working?'
That's because all he saw was black and white.
Jihan shivered.
He had a very bad feeling about this. Turning to look at the tribal head, who was looking at him with a serene smile on his face Jihan hesitated and turned to cover his right eye.
"....."
'!fuck'
That was all Jihan could think about when he saw his view covered in red.
'Shit! he was taking it so easy!'
Jihan suddenly realised how unfit he was to be the main character of any story and felt a bit glum. Fro his experience the protagonists seemed to be risking their lives at all time and even strategising at night sacrificing their sleep at all times.
Sighing Jihan calmed himself down for a moment as he took deep breaths. Turned to the tribal leader with a deep look in his eyes.
"Tribal leader-nim, do you have something to say to me?"
"Huhu pardon this old women, Jihan-nim, but now that you are done with the disciple-ship shall we start with what you need to repay us fro-."
But before she could complete her sentence the ground shook violently, Jihan felt himself getting imbalanced as many thoughts flashed by in his mind.
'Shall I flip the switch?'
Soon Jihan felt himself instinctively reaching out for the switch at the back of his head.
Time slowed for him as he opened his eyes, to be accurate it wasn't the time slowing for him more like brain was running at a capacity surpassing the time itself. Opening his eyes Jihan calmly discovered the fact that he was able to see both the red light and green light currently.
He observed the hues of colour deciding, there were darker red's lighter red's. Looking at the darkest hue right behind him, that seemed to have been some sort of creature getting out of the ground, Jihan moved back while observing it calmly.
The red and green light in his vision seemed to be based on the basis of danger of his life. Which meant darker the red, heavier chances of death and vice versa, while green seemed to have work in support of him, most probably luck.
Approaching the limit Jihan kept looking for clues in the huge creature, soon sighed. As an unranked person he knew he should not be in this creature's presence but not fighting it might as well mean his death.
Taking his wooden sword out of the inventory Jihan lamented as he watched the closing time.
'Had he know this would happen he would have brought more!'
"HUMA- eh where is he? Oh human? when?"
Looking at Biru who was looking back at him surprise and slight relief, Jihan sighed, then he watched as Biru moved forward with a axe that appeared in his hand out of nowhere.
"FUCK this earth dragon bastard just because we don't kill you!"
Watching the tribal leader who was constantly enchanting something while the creature called Earth Dragon seemed to be bound by wines moving around it, Biru was perfectly suppressing all it attack.
Watching this Jihan felt slightly weird. Soon he watched as the villagers started coming out of their homes at the sound of commotion.
"Ah? This one is here again?"
"Sigh, should we just kill it?"
"What are you talking about we can't you know that."
"Mama it's that human!"
"Did the human do something...?"
"Everybody silence."
After completely knocking out the earth dragon-nim and binding him tightly, the tribal leader announced, soon everyone muttered in discontent as if wanting to watch a good show and started shuffling back to their homes.
"Sigh, I am sorry Jihan-nim for the ruckus"
The old lady and Biru looked back at him apologetically. Jihan shook his slightly aching head as he smiled calmly at both of them.
"No its nothing."
Jihan replied as calmly as possible but on the inside he was in a turmoil. Of course he knew they were strong, but what the hell? From what he had read in the novel, dragons were unbeatable creature, they were designed to be such.
They had magic, they had strong phisique, one of them could topple a world if they wanted to, they were stronger than many constellation, but for some reason they never interfered with anything. Neither would they help anyone nor would they target one. It was as the character was designed to instill fear, but that's it.
For some reason such a terrifying existence was just now subdued by the two people who looked at him with apologetic faces, as if the ruckus caused by it's appearance was a crime in itself.
"Disciple-nim, your work starts from here."
Jihan looked back at the tribal leader smiling at him kindly.
"Please help us."
...............................
Jihan looked down at the earth dragon bound on the table like a lab rat in front of him and felt slightly weird in his heart as he watched the reverent expression in the eyes of the villagers surrounding him.
'....they will not ask me to eat it raw right?'
"Jihan-nim"
Looking up at the smiling eyes of the tribal leader Jihan nodded for her to continue.
"That your spirit gift is 'red-green eyes' right?"
Jihan flinched, looking up at her he asked lightly.
"Is that your spirit gift?"
At his question the tribal leader smiled politely.
"Just one of the perks of being the tribal leader."
Jihan nodded calmly and replied.
"Yes, Red defines danger, Green defines safety, For now I could only gain that much."
The tribal leader sighed with a slightly tired expression on her face.
"Jihan-nim, we want you to go inside this one's stomach."
Jihan felt himself freezing over
"....Yes?"
"Ah no you are thinking wrongly, I did not mean it that way. Actually you see we have something of importance buried in this one's stomach, but we can't harm it's flesh, it's sort of like a penalty. We just want to take out the thing in it's stomach, ah you see we don't know what that object is- aish I can't tell you much, this penalty system- really."
Jihan felt his confusion worsening. Seeing the tribal leader panicking, Jihan calmly closed his right eye and looked around for the green spot. Soon he was able to spot a green something coming from a certain area of the dragon.
"Messenger-nim, I have something to buy."
"Oh my how are you doing chaebol- oh my you already hunted a earth dragon Na-ahem, hmm strange people haha little chaebol you have grown up."
Jihan watched as the monkey face messenger's eyes froze slightly at the sight of the yaonamo tribe and vice versa. Biru even had his axe out but the tribal leader seemed to be holding him back. Even the villagers seemed slightly disoriented.
'Well, of course they would not appreciate a constellation lackey's presence.'
"Long time no see messenger-nim, I have something to buy."
Immediately the monkey face turned to him with a classy business smile on his mouth.
"Of course here you go what would you like-"
"Then I will choose the donkey's never ending straw rope."
"....HAHA Na-ahem, my my chaebol-nim how shrewd, do you want the full set or-"
"I only want the straw rope."
"....hu I understand, anything else Na-ahem?"
"I would like to but the seed of life."
"Huhu spending big I see, Na-ahem total would be 10,020 star points, anything else."
"That will be it."
"Thank you for your purchase! your items are in your inventory! See you later, Na-ahem."
Soon the unusually Jiddy monkey's face disappeared. Jihan sighed as he opened his inventory.
He long pressed on the two boxes and soon a notification popped up,
*Would you like to combine item 'donkey's never ending rope' and item' seed of life'?*
"Bingo"
Jihan exclaimed as he chuckled inwardly. This was why the inventory was so important, it had so many hidden features that the protagonist would discover 'in a daze' or while 'combing and slipping their hands'.
*Ding*
*Combination complete*
*Item 'Unruly rope' obtained*
Reading the name of the item Jihan had a bad feeling about it.
