Logistics of the Director and the Administrator

In a massive tent near the southern shelter's interior entrance, two individuals stood before a group of personnel arranging and managing the gathered supplies of Cerberus. One was a handsome man wearing a jet-black military trench coat, while the other was a gorgeous lady in a black secretary's suit.

The two were the only higher echelons of Cerberus. The famous Director and the newly-emerged Administrator. The massive tent they were in was the erected supply tent of Cerberus. The two arrived here to discuss the logistics of the Cerberus Military.

After all, the logistical issues of the army must be solved before the official deployment. The platoons will be deployed to conquer the remaining four locations of the Liberation Mission given by the Protocol.

"The Logistic Staff the Director has summoned have almost concluded in recording and hoarding the supplies of the respective containers. Later, we will start arming each unit with their general equipment and necessities." Aurora uttered while staring at the group of Logistic Staff.

"And regarding the armored vehicles, Director..."

"It will take time for them to be issued to the two companies under the formation you have thought of. After all, some of the numbers aren't adding up with the plans we have in mind." She also softly remarked. Her words signified something, which Duke immediately noticed and understood.

"You must be talking about the first group of Sentinels. The units of the two companies have already been summoned. But there are the remains of the first summoned Sentinels." Duke responded with his deep voice while Aurora nodded in agreement.

"I understand your worries."

"You're wondering where to put them. It would be problematic to have 78 undeployed Sentinels, and I'm sure they wouldn't want that." The edges of Duke's lips rose as dozens of thoughts about the solutions passed through his mind. Moments passed before he was out of his trance.

He glanced at Aurora beside him with his sapphire-like irises and suggested. "I want to create an extermination company using the first Sentinels as the groundwork. Unlike our two companies who will be versatile, the extermination company will focus on complete eradication."

Duke's idea was dangerous yet excellent in the context of the Dark Cataclysmic Era. An extermination company with the job of entirely eradication something wasn't an out-of-the-world idea. But it had its uses, and Aurora also felt it was a good idea.

"But the extermination company will not be created until we return to the Cerberus Headquarters. So, the 78 Sentinels will continue being on guard duty. The First-Ordinance Sentinels will also be undeployed until then." At the moment, He had no wealth in his wallet. It was nearly emptied.

He had to wait for the two companies to cleanse the remaining four locations and be resupplied with Source Points.

"Understood, Director. I will be relaying your orders to Aleph and Bet." Aurora nodded with a smile while thinking about the extermination company. It also had another duty. And perhaps that would be to guard the Director of Cerberus. It would practically become the Director's private military.

A Logistic Staff walked forward and gave a sheet of paper to the Administrator. Aurora took a glance at it as her eyelids squinted. Written on the white paper was the quantity of the supplies they had and the numbers the two companies needed.

"So, Aurora... Are our supplies enough?" Duke silently questioned with a whisper to Aurora's ears. Aurora furrowed her eyebrows and reported the details written in the paper.

"The Electronic Hardware Container has provided an ample supply to Drone Specialists and Communication Operators. We have also been supplied with electronics and some interesting small drones. Our current supply of electronic hardware will be enough for quite a while."

"The Ordinance Container are brimming with explosives. It also gave us additional ammunition for the Vanguard Gunship, so we did not need to worry about consuming the entire armament of the aircraft. If we equipped the Combat Engineers and Grenadiers with their general ordinance."

"Only 5% will be depleted from our ordinance stockpile."

"The Mechanical Container has the tools and machinery for repair and engineering. With it, maintenance should also not be a problem. With the amount of mechanical parts we have in our storage. Even if the entirety of the military armored vehicle convoy breaks apart, we will still be able to fix them."

"The Medication Container has a long-effective operational limit of four companies. It will take numerous battles for two companies to deplete our medicines. But I plan on granting extra support to the support platoons. After all, they will act as mobile hospitals for the companies."

"The Food Container and Fuel Container will also last for a while. With the theorized consumption rate the Cerberus Military has, our food resources will take a month to be completely consumed. On the other hand, the fuel supply will take even longer to become emptied."

"But there is a problem with the Arsenal and Ammunition Container. If we planned to fully equip every unit in the two companies. The armament and ammunition supplies in our storage would be devoured. At this rate, the two companies could only participate in one battle before losing supply."

Aurora warned of the impending disaster that could happen if the Cerberus Military lacked the armament and ammunition supplies they needed to support the official deployment.

Duke understood her warning and didn't hesitate to act. The sooner the problem was solved, the better it would be for the army. So, without a hint of hesitation. He purchased more Arsenal and Ammunition Containers for future use.

Since he bought more military supplies for the two companies, Duke's wallet continued to be emptied. The two companies were the most expensive investment he had ever made. So, he hoped for the companies to be successful in the deployment.

"The armament and ammunition problems have been solved. I'll keep stockpiling them every once in a while." Duke said with a confident smile, making Aurora quietly chuckle. She noticed the slightly painful tone in his voice. As though he had been robbed.

"Excellent, Director. There should be no problems with our logistics." Aurora gave him a beautiful smile while returning the sheet of paper to the Logistic Staff. "The Logistic Staff will equip every soldier in the Cerberus with equipment and necessities. The army's deployment will not take long."

"That's good... I hope they will succeed in their mission before 24 hours pass." Duke nodded with relief and remarked. If the mission could be completed within that period, he could use the source points his soldiers gathered to purchase more in the Doomsday Mall.

"I'm sure the two companies will complete the mission given to them." Aurora expressed her confidence in the companies. Duke nodded in agreement but also muttered. "The Dark Cataclysmic Era is dangerous. I'd have them be cautious than be swift in the wasteland."

"So I'd rather not force them."

"I'll relay your words to the Officers," Aurora said as a Logistic Staff entered the supply tent and saluted before the two higher echelons of Cerberus. Duke raised an eyebrow while Aurora gave a beaming smile to the staff.

"Director and Administrator! The Officers have concluded in forming the ten platoons of the two companies. They are waiting for the two of you in the command tent for further orders." The Logistic Staff calmly reported.

"Understood... Let's not make them wait, Aurora." Duke walked out of the supply tent and headed towards the command tent. Aurora followed from behind and soon stepped forward beside him. She glanced at the Director with the lustrous golden irises of her eyes before bringing up something.

"Director, do you know the way to the command tent?" Aurora softly questioned, making Duke furrow his eyebrows as he tilted his head in confusion. She chuckled upon seeing his confused expression and explained. "The command tent isn't in the southern shelter's entrance."

"It resides in the central part of the southern shelter. It's somewhat large, but it hosts all the advanced hardware of the Electronic Container. It has become the temporary command center of the Cerberus Military."

"And it is also connected with the mainframe of the Cerberus Headquarters."

Duke was shocked to hear about the existence of the temporary command center. It seemed that the Cerberus was a lot more efficient than he thought. He didn't have to order every single move of theirs.

"All of you earn my praise for establishing the command center. That will make things easier for me." He said with a rare smile on his face. Aurora smirked upon seeing it and responded. "It's natural for us to make things easier for the Director. It would be ironic if the Cerberus made things harder for you."

The two continued walking towards the central part of the southern shelter. It only took several minutes before they arrived in front of the command tent. There were dozens of Sentinels patrolling the tent, and they appeared to be from the first group.

Duke first entered the tent while Aurora followed. It was still necessary to portray the difference in the ranks between the Director and the Administrator. As Duke stepped into the command tent, he noticed a large wooden round table where 20 individuals stood.

Upon perceiving him, they swiftly kneeled without any hesitation.

"""WELCOME DIRECTOR!!!"""

"It's nice to see you, my Officers and First-Ordinance Sentinels." Duke walked towards them with an uncaring smile. The twenty individuals gave space to their Director and Administrator, wanting to know the thoughts of their great ones.

"Since all of you are here. I won't be wasting any more of your time."

"In the meeting within the Cerberus Headquarters, we only discussed four target locations, which included the southern shelter. But since we needed five. I will add another location. We found it on a map created by the southern shelter."

"I will be briefing all of you about our current targets."

"Target A has been cleansed. Target B is the tiny warehouse considered the bastion of Goshen County. Target C is the village of Hawk Springs. Target D is the fallen settlement, New Torrington. And finally, Target E..."

"A newly-established oil refinery in the southwestern border of Goshen County."

"Taking over it is necessary for the future plans of the Cerberus. It's in the middle of nowhere, so there shouldn't be hordes of aberrants near the structure. The location is also nearby." Duke explained his reasoning for picking the oil refinery.

"With these four targets, I will assign all the platoons under the two companies for deployment. On the other hand, the two platoons of the first Sentinels will be on garrison duty to protect the FOB. Does any one of you have objections?" Duke questioned while squinting his eyes.

All the personnel before the round table shook their heads. They expressed their agreement with their Director's arrangements. There were no disagreements since no one felt anything wrong about it. Some were even satisfied with it. The ones who were delighted were the two platoon leaders.

Aleph and Bet felt honored to be guarding the Director themselves.

"Since none of you have objections, why don't we continue?" Duke waved his hands as a Logistic Staff placed the discovered map on the wooden table. The Officers and First-Ordinance Sentinels immediately noticed four pins pointed at several locations across the map.

These were the remaining of the five locations targeted by Duke.

"It's time to discuss the strategies we will use. This will be a large-scale operation that will incorporate ten platoons to move simultaneously. I don't want chaos to ensue, so let's carefully plan things out." Duke wanted things to go smoothly.

After all, the more smoothly it goes, the better it would be for the Director of Cerberus.

"Officers and Sentinels... Speak freely during our discussions. Any ideas will be heard and taken into consideration. A reminder that we will not be hitting location at a time."

"This operation cleanses all of them in one deployment."
