First Liberation War: Long-Awaited Victory!

In the temporary FOB, Aurora was in the interior of the command tent, going through the reports of the deployed platoons. From the information she received, the mission was proceeding well. It might not take long for the operation to succeed and for the platoons to return.

But, as she gazed towards a tall man with a handsome face, her eyes couldn't help but squint in curiosity. The Director seemed to be pleased for some reason. Did he already know the reports sent by the Communication Operators?

That shouldn't be possible since the Director has been napping beside her the entire mission's duration. Unless the Director already knew the platoons could complete their tasks with ease. He must be confident with the army, which made Aurora a bit glad.

Nonetheless, as the Administrator, she must report everything to the Director, even if the Director might have already known something about it. It was her duty, after all.

"Director, the platoons have gone through their given mission well. Some even completed their task swiftly and are helping their nearby comrades." Aurora announced, which made Duke smile.

"They have done a good work. It looks like we wouldn't have any problems in terms of funds, Aurora." Duke glances at Aurora, who also smiles. Having money to spend was always a piece of good news. After all, no one was given mercy against the power of bankruptcy.

Afterward, Duke gazed forward at the digital notification before him. Written on it was the bombardment of reports regarding the Liberation Mission. Luckily for him, it was compiled. Otherwise, it would be problematic for the Director of Cerberus.

'The total amount of source points I have gained from the operation should be reported after some time.' Duke was a bit excited and imagined the amount he would gain from this mission. He hoped it would be over ten thousand.

After all, he needed this minimum amount of source points to start building his Doomsday Base.

Time soon passed as Aurora kept going through the documents regarding the logistics of the two companies. Duke calmly waited while relaxingly sitting on his seat. As he waited for the digital notification, he couldn't help but wonder if he should have gone with the two companies.

However, he stopped such a thought since the companies needed to operate themselves without being given complex orders from him. Besides, he doubted they would agree with such a proposal.

Fortunately for Duke, though, there was no need to continue waiting for the completion. Out of nowhere, a Communication Operator entered the command tent and reported the general overview of the operation.

"Director, the first and second platoons have succeeded in liberating Target D and aiding the platoons in Target C. The third and fourth platoons have liberated Target C with the first and second platoons. The sixth and seventh platoons have concluded in the liberation of Target B."

"And finally, the eighth and ninth platoons have completed taking over Target E."

"According to the reports, there are no casualties during the operation, but there are some injuries during the battle."

"In conclusion, the operation is a success!"

"The Cerberus has won!"

Aurora looked up to the Communication Operator with a smile and nodded in understanding. She took a short glimpse at the Director and gazed upon the operator once again. Her smile was now even broader than ever before.

"Announce their victory throughout the FOB."

"Understood!"

The communication operator left the command tent, and the two were left alone. Aurora turned her gaze to Duke and remarked. "Are we rich, my dear Director?"

Duke looked at Aurora and smirked.

"Dear, I can buy ten companies with how bulky my wallet has become."

This was the first time Duke's pocket money had turned five digits. Using this vast amount of source points, who knows what kind of army Duke could create. Sadly, he doesn't plan on using such funds to build a giant army.

After all, he needed to start constructing.

The bombardment of notifications soon ended, which was good news for Duke. He then remembered the Upgrade Reward of the Liberation Quest. It was supposed to update the entirety of the protocol. And looking at it right now, several features were added.

'I also receive 5,000 Source Points for having the protocol upgraded. It looks like the protocol is in a good mood.' Duke quietly thought to himself while staring at the notification windows.

He soon closed his eyelids and opened the Doomsday Mall.

Without any hesitation, Duke opened the Vehicle's tab to buy more vehicles for Cerberus. Though, what he was buying wasn't related to the military. Instead, they were purely in the utility type.

➤| Cargo Truck(Utility): The Cargo Truck is an 8x8 heavy utility transport truck of the Cerberus. It is an armored truck with a high payload tonnage of 25 tons alone and 150 tons with containers behind it. The Cargo Truck is the blood in the interiors of Cerberus. It mustn't be underestimated, even though it has no fighting capabilities. The top speed of the Cargo Truck is 125 kilometers per hour alone and 75 kilometers with a maximum 150 tons payload. The operational limit of the truck is 25 to 100 people. (Cost: 250 Source Points[50% Discount]) |

As the Liberation Mission has completed, it was time for them to return to the Cerberus Headquarters. But Duke couldn't simply abandon the supplies they got in the FOB, so he needed some Cargo Trucks to get them out.

'I also need to buy a couple Panther APCs for the Sentinels directly under me.'

With this in mind, it was time to start his first buying spree.

| The Director has purchased 4x Cargo Trucks[With 12x Container Chassis](Utility), and 4x Panther APC(Military) with the price of 2,000 Source Points(50% Discount!) |

Now that he had bought what he needed, it was time for his construction operation in the Cerberus Headquarters. First, he needed to buy some buildings in the Doomsday Mall.

| The Director has purchased 1x Barracks(Military), 1x Armored Factory(Military), and 1x Fusion Reactor Plant(Military) with the price of 8,000 Source Points(50% Discount!) |

'Hmm... The Barracks cost 2,500 Source Points to purchase, the Armored Factory should cost 3,500 Source Points, and the Fusion Reactor Plant cost 2,000 Source Points.'

'Without the discount, the total would be 16,000 Source Points. That should be about 4 companies worth of money. And it's only for three buildings in the Doomsday Mall.'

Duke couldn't help but think of the extravagant price of buildings in the Doomsday Mall. Thousands of aberrants would have to be sacrificed for a single building. It makes one wonder about how the protocol internally worked its source points.

"Aurora, give the returning companies their new orders."

"What is it, my Director?"

Aurora was quick and straightforward in asking for Duke's orders. As the Administrator, there was no 'wasting time' in her vocabulary. Duke looked at her and gave his orders to the beautiful lady.

"Order them to directly return to the Cerberus Headquarters. There's no need for them to return to the Temporary FOB."

It would be a waste of time and fuel for the returning platoons to head towards the Temporary FOB. Especially when they would be returning to the Cerberus Headquarters. So, Duke prompted them to immediately go back.

"Understood, I'll give them your orders."

Aurora nodded and transferred the orders to a nearby Communication Operator. Then, Duke stepped out of the command tent with Aurora following him. With the order of their return, the Vulture Gunship was already preparing for its liftoff. It was merely waiting for its Director.

Duke entered the Vulture Gunship for the first time, and Aurora followed, sitting beside him. In front of him were Sentinels sent as guards for their Director. He smiled at them as the Gunship's hatch closed.

The Vulture Gunship soon flew to the skies for the first time, with the pilots announcing a clear airspace. Duke glanced downward and saw the Cargo Trucks loading cargo containers on their chassis. The Sentinels also marched into their Panther APCs.
