Suzain looked earnestly at Shadow and began explaining all the rules for the "Elevator World" game.
"Okay, listen carefully, Shadow," Suzain said, her voice serious. "To start the game, we need to enter the elevator."
Shadow nodded, paying close attention to each word.
"Once inside, press the 4th floor button," Suzain continued. "But here's the catch – if someone else enters the elevator or one of us leaves it during any step, we have to start all over again."
"Got it," Shadow replied, determined to follow the rules precisely.
"Good," Suzain said, "Next, we press the 2nd floor button. Again, same rule applies – no interruptions or we begin from the beginning."
Suzain then explained the next steps, which involved pressing the 6th floor button and returning to the 2nd floor once more. Shadow felt the gravity of the challenge, realizing that any mistake could lead them back to the starting point.
Suzain continued, "Now, press the 10th floor button. If anyone else enters or leaves the elevator, we'll have to restart."
As Suzain spoke, Shadow couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement mixed with nerves. The game seemed intricate and filled with mysterious elements.
"Now comes the critical part," Suzain said with a hint of gravity in her voice. "When we reach the 5th floor, we must not, under any circumstances, look at or speak to any woman who enters the elevator. We have to stay completely silent and avoid any eye contact. Trust me, this is crucial for our safety."
Shadow's curiosity piqued. "Why? What happens if we don't follow this rule?"
Suzain's expression turned serious. "The woman on the 5th floor is not human. If we engage with her, she may decide to keep us for her own, and we don't want that."
Shadow shivered slightly, realizing the gravity of the situation. She nodded, signaling that she understood the importance of the rule.
"Finally, if the elevator reaches the 1st floor, we have to leave immediately and not look back," Suzain said firmly. "And if it reaches the 10th floor, we must not respond to any questions from the woman, no matter what she asks. Her voice will be unsettlingly high when she speaks."
Shadow took a deep breath, trying to process all the information. The game seemed both thrilling and nerve-wracking, but she was determined to face it head-on.
"Are you ready for this, Shadow?" Suzain asked, her eyes searching for any signs of doubt.
Shadow met her friend's gaze with unwavering determination. "Yes, I am. Let's do this."
Shadow agreed about the tasks and how focused she needed to be while playing this horror game.
Shadow: "Are you coming with me?"
Suzain: "I will not. I'll wait for you, and if anything goes wrong, I'll be here to help you out. Also, don't worry, I have my emergency button."
Shadow: "Emergency button? What's that?"
Suzain: "It's a button to help both of us. If anyone presses it, my brother will know that we are in trouble."
Shadow: "Oh, I see. Don't worry, nothing is going to happen."
Suzain: "I hope you prove me wrong."
Shadow in her mind: "Okay, come on, Shadow, you can do this. You're brave, and you'll show Suzain that this 'Elevator World' is nothing to be scared of."
Suzain: "Shadowww, damn girl, what's wrong with you? I've been calling you for five minutes. What are you even thinking?"
Shadow: "Ah, nothing. Just preparing and reminding myself of all the rules. Nothing else, relax."
Shadow started walking towards the elevator, and she reached it. Before pressing any button, she started praying, even though she was confident. The area was extremely dark, with broken streetlights, and the school's lights were off, making her feel uneasy.
She pressed the button for the 4th floor, and the elevator doors closed. As the elevator ascended, she kept praying, hoping that no lady would enter the elevator.
As the elevator reached the 4th floor and no one entered, Shadow continued to the 2nd floor without any interruption. She followed the instructions carefully, pressing the buttons according to the rules Suzain had explained.
Finally, she reached the 5th floor, and her heart raced. This was the critical point, and she knew that, according to the rules, a woman might enter the elevator here.
Shadow's heart pounded in her chest as the lady's eerie presence filled the elevator. She felt as though the walls were closing in on her, suffocating her with fear. Her body trembled, and she could barely find the strength to press another floor button.
The lady's voice was deep and unsettling, sending chills down Shadow's spine. She desperately tried to ignore her, praying that the encounter was just a part of the game. Yet, her racing thoughts filled her mind with doubts and terrifying scenarios.
Lady: "May I know what you are doing here?"
Shadow hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to respond. Her mind was a whirlwind of confusion and fear. Could this really be a paranormal encounter, or was it all just her imagination playing tricks on her?
Shadow finally managed to stammer, "I... I don't believe you're real. This is just a game, right?"
The lady's anger intensified, and her eyes seemed to pierce through Shadow's soul. "I am talking to you! Where are you going?"
Overwhelmed and feeling trapped, Shadow's frustration reached a breaking point. "Shut up!" she shouted in defiance, trying to muster the courage to stand her ground.
The lady's sinister smile widened, sending a shiver down Shadow's spine. The atmosphere in the elevator became even more oppressive, and the dim lights flickered as if responding to the lady's malevolence.
Shadow realized that she had to make a choice – continue following the rules and leave the elevator at the 1st floor or confront this malevolent force head-on. The weight of her decision bore heavily on her, but she knew she had to be brave.
