In less than ten minutes Skylar returns to the classroom with a cheeky smile on her face.
"What have you done Skylar?" I ask her and pinch my nose.
"Nothing," she pauses and utters innocently, "some people are here to see you." She says sheepishly with a glint of excitement in her eyes.
I place my hand on my chin and rub it slowly with my fingers, pondering about who wants to see me. Five of the boys who assaulted me earlier enter the class and my jaw drops to the floor when I see how beaten they look. Their faces were red and swollen.
What did she do to them?
I facepalm myself and I sigh, I am glad that all of them are still breathing, it's a very good thing they are, I thought that they would die.
They fall to the floor with their heads touching it, "We are sorry for what we did, please forgive us, master."
Master?
"I..." I am speechless and they try everything to avoid my gaze.
"We don't want to have anything to do with you or this crazy woman again." One of them asserts afraid and all of them are shaking like a jackhammer.
My eyebrows furrow. Tsk. This has to be Skylar's doing but the fact that they are my agaemates and after assaulting me they are now afraid of me made me happy.
A grin creeps to my lips, I am glad that I am not the only one who sees Skylar as a crazy girl. I stare at her and my eyes meet with hers, she glares at me and I quickly remove my gaze.
I shudder like a mouse in a rat trap when she keeps on staring at me intently. She is so terrifying.
I look down at the five of them still on the floor and I figure out that they are not going to leave unless I tell them to.
What if I want them to leave but Skylar doesn't? Then all of them will be dead meat. Skylar has more skills than me and unfortunately, she has more brute strength than me. I felt like a child fighting an adult whenever I fought with her.
How was she able to disguise her true strength when she attacked me that first time? I thought she was weak but it was all a bluff she is way stronger than I am.
"All of you can go, I have nothing against you guys. Next time don't go about beating someone," I pause and then I say with a serious voice, "Who knows whether the next person you wrong will forgive you like I just did."
When I am done talking they run out of the classroom like squirrels and I heave a sigh, I am glad that Skylar did not stop them from leaving.
"Why did you let them go like that? You should've at least threatened their lives or the lives of their loved ones." She suggests cruelly and I scratch my head nervously.
"I think it wasn't necessary to do so," I stammered and she become pissed. "We have to lie low, eyes are watching us."
I tell her and she calms down.
"I know." She turns around and she huffs. "Consider this a return in favour for giving me that trophy."
She leaves the classroom shutting the door and I pinch my nose. Why is she different from when last I saw her? And who is she? For the past few weeks, we met each other this is one of the first times we are having a conversation without her trying to chop off my head.
My subconscious appears in front of me and I put on a blank facial expression.
"You haven't yet done the daily challenge, Jayden. You are aware that there are severe penalties if you don't do them. The daily challenge is there for your development so you should take it seriously..."
"What should I name you?" I question it interrupting it, and its eyes become wide. I can't keep calling it my subconscious, I realised that I'll have to give it a name.
"Whatever name my master gives me, I'll bear it." It says prostrating itself and I smile mischievously. If it is this submissive I can make it remove the daily challenge.
"I'll name you Y," I tell it.
"Why Y?"
"That's the name I can think of. So from today onwards you will be called Y."
"Yes, Master."
"Now Y," my smile becomes wider, "remove the daily challenge," I command and everywhere becomes silent. Y start to laugh and my eyes widen. What's wrong with it?
Maybe it's faulty...I don't even know what it is, whether it was programmed or it has a life force, it didn't tell me what it was, it just told me that it was created by Kovex the owner of the power I bear.
"I can't do that, master the daily challenge shall stay until you complete it," Y says with a weird smile on its face and I grit my teeth.
"I'm your master right?"
"Yes, you are."
"Then remove it."
"No master."
"Make me reach level seven."
"That's cheating master Jayden."
"Who is Skylar?"
"I can't tell you that master Jayden."
"Tsk. Stop calling me master!" I raise my voice and pinch my nose. "If you don't do everything I ask you to do, how then am I your master?" This is frustrating, I thought I'd be able to use its submissiveness for my gain, but I think that is not possible.
"I forgot to tell you this since you are so against the daily challenge," it grinds and sits on a plastic desk. "Well, the more daily challenges you accomplish the more rewards you get."
"Rewards? What type of reward?" I become suddenly interested, if the reward is worth it, then the daily challenge can stay.
"Space manipulation: illusionary art," Y intones with his fingers forming a triangle in the air and the whole classroom turns black. I look around and we are in the middle of nowhere, we were just in the classroom some moments ago, how did we come here? I turn to Y.
"This is your doing right?" I remember how it created something like this some while ago, how does it do it? Does it have powers on its own?
"Yes. This is just a sample but you should be able to do this soon." It explains and my eyes lighten up with both excitement and curiosity.
I can do this?
Obviously, I can, according to Y, it was created out of the fragment of its master's power Kovex and I have inherited Kovex's power so that means I can do this too.
"But..." It chuckles pulling me out of my thoughts.
"But what?" I frown.
"This is where the daily challenge rewards come in handy, well, yes whenever you level up you might unlock a new ability related to your main ability, but there are some abilities that don't need you to level up before you can attain them, you can only get them through daily challenge..."
"I don't need it," I say coldly and Y's face becomes comical because of my sudden behaviour change.
"Why? This is one of the coolest abilities you have." It tries to convince me but I shut my eyes and nod my head in disagreement.
"There is no use of it."
"You don't even know what it can do, yet you have already made up your mind?"
"What can it do," I ask with a little bit of curiosity in my eyes and Y's grin gets wider. The place begins to change and in a blink of an eye, we are in my room at my house. I look around and this place looks exactly like my room. So it's teleportation all this while...there is nothing special about it, I can use the Xera link to go to anywhere I want and any timeline I want.
But then something doesn't feel right about this, why will I have the same type of ability, I could use the Xera link fused with my power to do this. Before my classroom turned black Y said something, what was it?
I rub my chin slowly thinking about what Y said before we came here...
Illusionary art.
That means this is some sort of illusion, and this isn't the first time Y is using it, I remember how he used it to show me the current state of Zyron so that I'll accept my fate.
I walk to my study stable and there are books on it, if I am right when I hold one of these books my hand will pass through it and it will turn into a thousand dust particles.
I try holding one of the books on the table but my fingers pass through it.
"This is something like an illusion," I turn around and an impish grin makes my lips part, "and this is not the first time you are using it right?"
"You got that right and you got that wrong, it is just no ordinary illusion, but this is just a sample of what you can do, I don't have an ability, young Master Kovex blessed me with some abilities when he created me so that I can use them to teach you and give examples like this." It explains and I walk around the room still amazed by how it can make a replica of my room. I think it can make a replica of anywhere it thinks of with this ability.
"How does it work?" I ask it.
"Illusionary art is created with your imaginative ability, it alters reality and creates another reality in an expanse, so whatever happens here doesn't affect the real world, unlike your normal ability that affects the real world."
"So this exists outside of the real world right?" I ask it and it nods. So that means we were in some sort of a void created by Y where it can create things with its mind as it wants.
"If someone enters the classroom while illusionary art is on, then that person will meet an empty classroom. Mind you, we are still in the classroom but in a kind of invisible space." It tells me.
From Y's explanation, I understand that right now we are both existing and nonexistent in the real world, this is one of the coolest abilities I have ever seen, it is like an illusion since it has to do with the mind, but then it isn't, it is like creating a reality on its own, it is a very complicated ability.
"But isn't my power almost the same as this? I can create a whole house in the real world..."
"But it disappears after some time, right?" Y cuts in and it comes closer to me, its face is only a few inches away from mine. It is so creepy when it does this. "And even though you advance in level you can't still alter reality forever, but here, you can create a universe in a second and that universe will last as long as the ability is on. Because this is just a sample your hands will pass through anything you touch, but when you use it, everything will become real."
So this is part of my ability, not only can I alter reality in the real world I can create it using this illusionary art and if I can use this ability anything I can think of while I'm in it will become true, like creating a space where I can do anything I want to, as long as I have that space on, unlike the real world where I have to still be somewhat close to reality when changing an object shape and an object I altered returns back to normal or fades away when K stop thinking about it.
This power I inherited is so complex, that I wonder how long it will take me to master and understand it.
The classroom turned to normal and we are still standing in the same spot.
"If you want to attain this interesting ability you have to accomplish three months of daily challenge before it will be rewarded to you. It's non-negotiable." Y tells me and I see a glint of pity in its eyes. I'm its master yet I have to do what it says, such insolvency.
A three-month daily challenge before I can attain it is quite long and problematic. Why do I need to accomplish three months of daily challenge before I get rewarded with it when I can just learn it now?
"I don't need it."
Y facepalms itself and lets out a sigh. "Okay, I'm down with convincing you how cool this ability is, you can do whatever you want to do." It gestures its hands in the air. "I'm out of here."
"I meant the three months of daily challenge, I don't need to do daily challenges for three months before I can attain that ability," I say with a smirk and It stops walking.
"That's not possible. Your daily challenge will give you the training that you need to unlock this part of power. You can't just do it now, you have to learn how to focus your Xo well before you can attain it."
My grin gets wider and then I use my hands to form a triangle in the air, following what Y did earlier.
"Space manipulation: illusionary art."
