Chapter 24 (Commander)

There are three major aspects of my abilities, alteration, insight and hyperspace. Alteration is the ability to create and make changes to reality. Insight is the ability to know someone's immediate thoughts. These are the three techniques I can do, while Illusionary art is the combination of these three techniques. The hyperspace allows me to move through time and space, Y called it the Xera link.

Understanding my powers is what I needed to defeat her and not experience, surely she is more experienced and skilful than I am, but with my abilities, all these don't matter.

I look at Skylar who is kneeling on the ground breathing heavily, she tries to stand up but she can't, her body is too exhausted to do that. After a long tough battle, I won.

"Give up, it's over, I win." I tell her and then I come closer to her with a smirk on my face, "Now you shall answer all the questions I ask you and you shall do whatever I asked you to do."

She grits her teeth in disagreement but after sometimes her features soften.

Y appears from nowhere and its face is comical and shocked, "How did you do that? How were you able to defeat her?"

I chuckle and then I run my hands through my kinky hair, "Insight and alteration. I've not yet fully understood hyperspace so I didn't use it."

Hyperspace is the technique that mostly makes up illusionary art which seems to be my ultimate technique. How the illusionary art technique works is that I use hyperspace to create an expanse that does not exist in both time and space but exists in between them. And in that expanse, I can use alteration and insight indefinitely, but it consumes a lot of XO that's why I didn't use the technique to fight Skylar, if I did then I should have blacked out and she should have won because my XO control and amount is too weak to hold up illusionary art. It is just like doing three very difficult things at the same time.

"How were you able to do this in a short time?"

"It was easy to figure out after using my abilities countless times." My smirk gets wider and I tuck my hands into my pocket.

Its face becomes more stupefied and it tries to utter a word but only silent whispers come out of its mouth. After some time It shuts its wide-opened mouth and smiles happily.

"As expected of you the chosen one of Kovex, you're indeed worthy of this power. As I stay with you each day I know why young master chose you." It chuckles and uses its hand to cover its face. "I'm really curious and excited to see how far you can go?"

"What's special about me defeating her?" I asked it and it stopped laughing.

"She was a commander in the Zyron's army," Y tells me and my jaws drop to the floor.

"A commander?" I stammer and it nods. I can see why she is this powerful and skilful, she was a commander of the army in Zyron. It was very difficult for me to defeat her even using my abilities almost to the full. It wasn't easy defeating her, I used insight to know what her next move was and I was able to dodge all of them, I did this for some time, and then since she had more strength than I did and a tough body, I used alteration to make me stronger and after a while, she was tired of trying to land a blow on me and that was the opportunity I had to defeat her. If not for my powers I should have lost this battle.

Yes, Skylar is more experienced and skilful than me, but I am stronger, even though I had just a little experience and understanding of my abilities it was enough for me to use it and defeat her.

I turn to Y and ask, "What level am I in now?"

"You've entered level four," Y tells me and my lips part into a smile. Understanding more about my ability and defeating Skylar must have made me level up faster. I jumped a level which is level three and entered level four, which means that in just a short time I was able to get a lot of experience.

Just three levels left for me to master this power, if I continue engaging in difficult battles like this and get more experience then I will level up faster, not by doing a stupid daily challenge.

Now that I know that Skylar was a commander in Zyron's Army one of my questions has been answered but I still have one left.

"What was the relationship between Skylar and Kovex?" I ask Y since Skylar is too worn out to answer any of my questions. I remember when we fought in the past, after the battle, I felt some kind of nostalgic feeling, it felt like I've known her for years.

"Kovex planned to take on this heavy fate by himself but we people wanted to help him out, so they formed an organisation called 'Seven.' They aimed to remove all the evil in Zyron, and to eradicate Hermedox and his henchmen." It explains.

"I assume that they failed to do that, right?" I question and it nods.

If they had succeeded with their goals then Hermedox wouldn't be alive by now, his being alive showed that they failed.

"They failed and most of them died, including Kovex the founder of the organisation." It points at Skylar, " Being a member of the seven came with a lot of sacrifices, she is the only surviving member."

My eyes widen, so Skylar sacrificed her position and prestige in Zyron just to fight alongside Kovex and the evil in Zyron. But then if she could do this for Kovex then why was she attacking me? She is supposed to be on my side and help me master my powers.

"If all this happened then why did she attack me countless times?" I ask Y perplexed and it chuckles.

"Can't you see," it facepalms itself while chuckling mischievously, "she doesn't accept you, she thinks you're not worthy of possessing Kovex's powers and she had a difference with him before he died."

"What difference?" My attention is drawn to Skylar having a difference with Kovex instead of 'her not accepting me.'

"Why do you think she is still alive? Kovex betrayed her for her good, to save her life and he didn't fulfil his promise to her; I'm going to come back alive."
