Emperor of the Court

Kurai steps back and takes a deep breath.

"Good serve" He tosses the ball and slamming it over the net. Conner appeared under the ball and fell over but got it up. The crowd going cazy as a one sided smirk forms on Kurai's face. Landing on the court as James runs up to set. Kurai runs up in preperation to block a setter dump. Suddenly the ball appeared on the court where Kurai had just ran from. James lands with a smirk having power dumped the ball. MCHS 12-13 LWTHS. The crowd goes crazy once again as Kurai turns.

"Sorry about that guys" Lucas smirks and pat Kurai's back.

"Don't worry about it, the fact you got us those 2 points off your serves is impressive" Kurai gives him a weird look. Lucas was confused.

"What?"

James walks up to the back of the court and overhand serves the ball.

"Mine!" Ajax calls out and easily brings the ball up. The ball floating over Lucas. Kurai suddenly appeared while jumping horizontally. Spiking the ball over the net shocked everyone.

"What an insane rally!"

 "And what an Insane surprise spike by the setter, Kurai Vlast'!!"

"And now, Kaneko is up to serve for LakeWood Tech!"

"Yup, the score is at 12-14 with LakeWood Tech in the lead!"

Kaneko walks up to the edge of the court. Taking a deep breath as a whistle blows. Tossing the ball up and running forward. Swinging his hand as the ball wasn't tossed high enough. Barely hitting it into the net with his forearm. Landing as Kurai turns to glare at him. A whistle blowing. MCHS 13-14 LWTHS.

"What just happened!?" 

The crowd is shaken as a tall man watches from the stands. Wearing a purple vest over a purple volleyball jersey. His blonde hair combed back out of his face and started to grow a beard. Watching the match from the stands. Smirking as he leaves.

"Get it, Ajax!" Ajax runs forward and diving after the ball. Barely bringing it up. Kurai leaning over and setting the ball as he hits the ground. Kaneko running forward and jumping high. Spiking the ball as it lands behind him. Landing with wide eyes.

"Sorry Kurai, that was a good set too…" Kurai gets up with Lucas and Ajax's help.

"His failed serve earlier along with the block just now… Kaneko is on the verge of losing it… we need to sub him out…" Kurai looks over at coach Russ. Russ reluctantly nods.

"Oh? What's this? It seems LakeWood Technical is subbing Kaneko out of the game? Bringing Richmond back in"

"We may be able to see him play for once this game"

Kaneko silently walks off the court. Richmond walking on and high fiving Kurai. Kurai leaned down to whisper in his ear.

"It's your serve, send the ball to…" Richmond nods.

"That'll guarantee us another point…" Richmond steps back and catches a ball for a serve. Taking a deep breath and tossing the ball high. Running forward and slamming the ball in between Eric and James like Kurai had done earlier in the 2nd set. Eric gritted his teeth. 'Why do I feel… like we're up against a strategic master?' Eric looks at LakeWood tech. The metaphorical vision of Kurai's hand over the entire court still lingers. James gulping 'He knew we hadn't seen their number 4's serves yet and told him to direct it at us… No wonder we've been behind the whole game… we've been under Kurai's jurisdiction this whole time!'

A whistle blows as the crowd goes crazy. MCHS 14-15 LWTHS.
