"The fuck you mean?"
"I had that."
"Did the blood loss make you stupid? Who the fuck are you even fighting?" The bluish-eyed man turned to the assassin lady(who was not knocked back at all by the explosion, it honestly freaked him out.) "...You got battered by this chick?"
"Yep."
The newcomer's grin dropped into disbelief, "...Is she stronger than you?"
"Yes." This answer freaked the newcomer out. He didn't know anyone who'd be able to pull this off against Aster, besides maybe their boss.
"Can you defeat her?"
"Possibly, probably not."
"What about right now?"
"Whatever chance I had went with that explosion, I'm out of 'focus'."
"I meant with me here."
"Maybe."
He doubted that. "Stop being nice and just answer the fucking question."
"I doubt she can be taken down so easily even if I was fully recovered."
Ignoring the subtle dig at him, the newcomer rolled his eyes. "Then why'd you fight her?"
"Her job's to kill me and I like her, so I wanted to give her a really good chance."
"... Sir, what the fuck?"
Observing the two banter, she decided to move. Sensing the overbearing pressure of her presence, the newcomer threw the immortal back and brought a pistol out to fire at her. Three shots. Three misses. As she closed the distance, he brought a bullet to her head. Bang.
She caught it in her teeth. Biting down on the bullet, she spat it right back at him. Narrowly dodging the reused projectile, it left a small cut on his cheek.
His eyes widened as beads of sweat dripped down his face. As she threw a punch, he raised his hand. Covering his palm was a disc connected to a bunch of thin tubes. Out the middle came a burst of explosive force, the recoil blasting him back. As smoke engulfed her and slowly subsided, it would reveal her unmoved and unaffected.
Landing on one hand and stepping back onto his feet, returning to the immortal, he lifted his arm and fired off another blast.
"Nope nope nope." He picked up the immortal in a frenzy. He wasn't gonna take a chance fighting her.
She wasn't planning to let him get away either and would plunge through the embers, diving towards them at inhuman speed.
Seeing his life flash before his eyes, he managed to block a kick to his side as he was flung through a wall. Slamming with a crash, he tumbled back up and focused. His eyes dilated as blood poured out of his nose.
With focus amped to the max, he was met with a fist to the face. An inch before connecting, he managed to match their speed for a second, arching back and avoiding the death blow.
Doing a one-armed back handspring with the immortal in his other arm, he chucked the undying man at her. Taking the hint, he rolled mid-air, he came down with a crescent kick on her. It was unbelievably light. Blocking the kick, she noticed a couple of marbles roll beneath her. Grabbing his ankle, she swung him around as they exploded diverting the force and lobbing him at the newcomer.
Catching Aster in his arms, he looked up and saw her streaking straight towards him. His eyes widened as he realized too late. Punching into the Immortal, the force of the assassin's punch went past their body, and into the newcomer. It was like getting hit with a cannon. He dropped Aster and flew backward, puking out blood from the impact.
Picking up the Immortal by the hair, she got ready to pierce right through his skull. He grinned a little, "Shit."'
Swinging her fist with zero restraint, he caught her fist with a grin. "Whoops."
Pulling him up, she slammed her fist into his sternum. He could feel his already broken ribs being crushed and split further up by the piercing blow. It made him heave as he puked out a puddle of blood. Gasping a little, he gave a bloody grin as he grabbed her wrist. Straining himself again, he forced himself to fire off an uppercut.
Parrying the blow and brushing his arm aside with ease, her lips almost curled up as she brought down another blow.
Crack. He felt his skull crack. He held onto her wrist with two hands and grinned, delirium running through him full force.
Quickly pulling her wrist in and hooking a leg around her arm to her neck, his other leg went under her arm and around her torso, securing an armbar. While he pulled back a bit, he didn't quite exert any significant force. "If I don't try to break your arm... can you let us go?"
She lifted her arm up, additionally lifting him up as well. He tensed up, "...go for it."
Swinging her arm down, he moved forward with his armbar and pulled. As he hit the ground, it splintered underneath them. As veins popped out of her head, she lifted him up again. Before she could slam him again, he surprisingly let go and rolled away.
Stepping out of some rubble, the newcomer groaned. Looking up, he was surprised to see that Aster was still standing(albeit, with a new puddle of blood forming underneath him).
Aster wiped away the blood on his mouth, unintentionally smearing it across his face and grin. His eyes seemed to be like lights in the dark. He looked insane. It was pretty freaky to the newcomer. Aster was a pretty tame dude, so his smile came as a pretty big surprise.
Looking away from Aster to glance at the assassin, he was more surprised to see their hand trembling.
The immortal brushed themselves off as if they had somehow just gotten all warmed up, despite the fact their body was literally just broken parts now. The assassin kept a calm demeanor but it definitely had an impression on them. Earlier, it seemed like the damage was taking effect, but he stopped shaking a bit before the newcomer arrived. Anybody else she knew would have been a goner by now. Especially after that blow to the head. Perhaps she was worried she'd leave too little of him for there to be an open casket.
He grinned as he felt her pressure rise. There would be no second chances this time if she landed another blow on his head. Maybe she found him weak and took pity earlier, and that's why she didn't dedicate everything in that punch to obliterating him, but now he could see her view of him changing very strongly with each step she tooked towards him.
"Sorry, but I'm pretty tough to-." They vanished. His eyes glimmered as he darted them around. Leaning past a kick to the side of his head, he shifted his feet to a bladed stance to face her.
Moving faster to destroy him, each swing was like a missile that'd blow everything it hit apart. His seemed to move effortlessly in response, mangled flesh dancing amidst the rain of destruction.
As they danced in the moonlight, a pebble flew past her. It did not escape her notice. Then bam, it exploded.
There was a lapse of focus. In that instant, the newcomer had dashed past, as rubble fell upon the feared lady, picking up Aster with one arm. He was visibly sweating bullets, breathing heavily, almost scared out of his wit's end. It was the fastest he'd ever ever moved and his heart was beating like crazy. His free hand was shaking like crazy from the adrenaline and his legs almost felt like jelly. He turned around for a second to look at the destruction. The worst was yet to come. He turned back around and dashed away.
Literally as soon as he did so, she was already behind him. Frenzily shaking his arm and stirring up the tubes connected and disc on his palm, he pointed his hand towards the feared lady and sent out a massive explosion, rocketting themselves forward, and ideally pushing the lady away. Blitzing past the hallway, he took out a couple of rods and dropped them on the ground before turning around and lifting the immortal in front of him, kinda as a shield. No. Exactly like a shield.
She waved the burst away with a swipe of her fist, running towards them like a bullet train.
"See ya! We'll be heading out." The newcomer said, the immortal waved as well, and then-
KABOOM!!!
The explosion sent them flying out of the building. It also started collapsing the building, but that wasn't important.
"...ohshitohSHITOHSHITOSHITAGHHHH!" As they flailed in the air, the newcomer scrambled to aim his palm towards the ground.
Gritting his teeth, he tensed up his arm and let out another explosion. Slowing down their descent and pushing them up a little, they continued flying horizontally before slightly falling, eventually crashing into a small condominium.
Laying on a broken bed(with Aster on a ruined table), the newcomer took a fresh air of relief. "Honestly... you're way too cool bro."
"Forman was right. You really are a funny kid."
Stumbling up, the newcomer grinned, "Thanks! I'll be sure to get funnier."
"Oh right, you're gonna have to carry me back." The desk was covered in the mercenary's blood.
What a day.

Wrapped in bandages, Aster sat in front of a small desk. Ahead of him was a very well dressed, well suited up red-haired lady. Her hair seemed to wave in the air like fire. Reflected through her bright red crimson eyes, she was pissed.
Forcing a smile, she placed both hands together and spoke in an overly polite tone, as politely as she could possibly muster, (completely) failing to mask her rage, "So... you mean to tell me you got your ass handed to you by some random assassin?"
