Chance Encounter

(Jason's POV)

I woke up, feeling my entire body ache.

"Ughh..." I said as I sat up

"Heh." I heard a voice say

I turned to see Allan, the old man, sitting next to my bed.

"What the..." I said, "Old man, what're you doing?"

"Karameel asked me to look after you." He said, "You suddenly collapsed out of exhaustion last night."

After Igora suddenly pledged her loyalty to me, I tried to walk but ended up passing out. I guess the strain God's Ego and the damage I got from Suzaku was more than enough to put me out.

I rubbed my head, "Damn..."

"I heard you beat the Wandering Swordsman." He said

"Y-Yea..." I said

I did, didn't I? I beat Suzaku. I mean, he himself said that he was holding back and it bit him the ass. I mean, I have two losses against him so that makes it 1-2. Next time we meet, I'll even our score.

I now have Sword God Slayer Magic, which is apparently too strong for any katana I summon using regular War Magic.

"Must've been one hell of a fight." Allan said

"It was." I said as I tried getting up from the bed

"Easy." He said, "You don't need to move, you can get some rest today."

I chuckled, "Nah." I said, "I got stuff to do."

I have to go to the Workshop and begin crafting a katana strong enough to use Sword God Slayer Magic. Then, I got to train it so I could get used to it. Not only that, I have to get enough points to unlock more spells.

I needed to get busy.

"Now now." Allan said, "One doesn't often get rest nowadays here. You've earned it."

He pushed me back as I sat down on the bed.

I sighed, "I guess. " I said, "I suppose I'll sleep for the day."

"You do that." He said, "Karameel is tending to the injured Demon-Folk that the swordsman hurt. I heard you got Igora to pledge her loyalty to you."

I nodded as I laid back down, "Yea." I said, "It was weird."

"The Ifrit are strange but fierce demons." He said, "My grandfather used to tell me stories about them. He even mentioned meeting Igora herself at one point."

"What's her deal?" I asked, "She speaks as she possesses knowledge."

"She's older than you can think." He said, "I reckon as old as the Black Wizard's time."

400 years old then....damn...I mean, she did mention they were an ancient race of demons that once fought Dragons. She spoke with a manner that she had gone through a lot of experiences.

And she pledged herself as an ally. Which was odd, to say the least.

"That Igora.." Allan continued,

"She's the Water Dragon God's old friend."

"What's all this fuss?" I said as I walked down the street

It's been a couple of days since my fight with Suzaku. After I rested well enough, I was aiding Karameel in tending to the townspeople, going into the Workshop at certain hours to work on my weapons.

Today, the majority of the people with more docile than usual but they were on the streets murmuring amongst themselves, some beginning to feel anxious.

Some who weren't afflicted were trying to get them back indoors just in case.

I reached the crowd as i looked at one of the unafflicted, "Hey." I said, "What's the big deal?"

"Two strangers have just arrived." He told me, "They don't seem from around. They're mages."

I nodded, "I see."

I then heard my badge static, "Sir." Felcity said, "Sorry for the late report. But I just received a reading of two familiar magical signatures."

"Hm?" I said as I walked through the crowd, "Is that so? Alright, folks, go back inside, I'll deal with this."

As they parted ways, I heard two familiar voices.

"I didn't expect to see you here." I heard a voice say

"Took the words right of our mouths." I heard the other say, "Are you alone or is Jellal with you?"

As I reached the front of the crowd, I saw Erza and Ultear standing there, facing each other. Erza wore her usual armor as Ultear was wearing her usual outfit.

"Oh?" I said, "It's you two."

They both then looked at me and slightly widened their eyes with surprise.

"Jason!" They both said in unison

I smiled, "Fancy meeting you here." I said before turning to the people, "It's alright folks, they're with me."

They all then began to slowly walk away.

I turned back to the babes, "So.." I said,

"What are you two doing here?"
