Elle had never felt such burning anger inside her as she felt now. Since a child, she wasn't one to raise hands. No matter what insults those people outside the slums had yelled in front of her face, she never bat an eyelid nor cared about it.
To her, the words they said couldn't hurt her or make her feel humiliated, at least that was what she thought until now where she felt her fresh wound ripped again.
Her hands rung as if she was a drum that had just been beaten. A searing hot pain transferred on her palms as it was her first time to ever hit someone, much more to their face.
Her golden eyes were met with the blonde vampire's brownish red ones. They seemed to have stared at each other out of shock where Elle was surprised her hand would move before her head could think, while the vampire was in shock that someone would ever dare to hit him.
"Human!" Shrieked one of the vampire beside the blonde one. It appeared that most of the noble knights who were gathered around were consist of vampires. They didn't expect that someone would suddenly come and struck someone, especially their friend.
"Tieran are you alright?!" Another knight called the blonde haired vampire whose face had been struck by Elle.
Tieran, the said vampire glared at the ground before pushing away his worried friend, "Do you think I would be in pain just because a mere human dared to slap me?!"
The other vampires seemed to have backed down, as if they were scared their worried action will only hurt Tieran's high pride. When Tieran stood up, Elle noticed that the man she had slapped was much more bigger than her. He was a tall vampire and with his silver armor, he looked double of her size, almost triple.
"Do you know what you have done?!" Tieran took a step forward to scare her but she didn't move and simply stared back at his burning eyes.
"Slap you," Elle spoke in a whisper.
"What did you say?" Tieran didn't hear her words and yelled in anger.
"I slapped you!" Elle stared back at the vampire's red eyes, it seemed that his eyes turn redder as he was angered. "Do I have to reiterate what I did to you so you know what I've done? Or would you want me to slap you again so you understand that I have slapped your face?"
Tieran's jaw tightened in anger and Elle could see him clenching his fist into a tighter one, "How the hell a mere human could enter our training ground. Ah, you must be a thief."
Elle scoffed at his words, "Would a thief slap you? She would have walked away after stealing something. It seems that not only you are a dimwit but you are also dumb."
"Oh no," whispered one of the vampire who had stood behind Tieran, appearing to be worried. But he wasn't worried for Elle, he was worried for Tieran as no one has ever tried to test his anger but Elle didn't hesitate to ruffle his feather.
"How fucking dare you human!! If you know who I am, you will start to prostrate in front of me and apologize! Do you know who I am? Do you know from which family have I came from?!!" Tieran seemed to be holding back his hand from striking back Elle's face. It wasn't that the vampire was a kind man who wouldn't hit women, it was the fact that he couldn't hit her out of oath that knights made where they couldn't hit women or the weak.
Although Tieran was a vampire that had no feelings or concern about following the rules, he was standing in the knight's training ground where other knights had stopped to see what had occurred. If he had struck Elle with many of the knights watching, his pride and his knight oath would have been stripped from him.
But that doesn't mean he wouldn't struck Elle back, he would have killed her, as long as they are away from knowing eyes.
However, Elle was too angered to feel scared of Tieran. She still held a grudge against the damn vampire who had said the death of her own family as a blessing and something that should have happen.
"I don't know," Elle retorted coldly in a scoff, "I can only see a bratty little child who pretend to be a regal knight because of his family's influence."
"That's it, human. I gave you a chance for you to apologize but I see that just like your tattered clothing, you are too lowly to know your place. Bring her to the dungeon," Tieran ordered his fellow vampires, appearing to be smiling in a grin as he had a great idea how to punish the daring human.
The other vampires sighed and Elle heard the other knights who had stopped training to whisper amongst each other.
"Tieran again, huh?" Whispered the knight to his friend.
The other scoffed, "This isn't the first time right? But surely the first time for someone to slap Tieran on his face."
"That human doesn't know what kind of Hell waiting for her. Didn't Tieran destroy his last human toy the other week? He seemed to be looking forward on torturing more humans and she comes right to his plate."
Tieran raised his eyebrows, "What are you waiting? Go for it!" He demanded to all his friends who were behind him to grab a hold on Elle.
Other vampires didn't think about it and walked forward. Their hand moved to take a hold of Elle's arms, ready to pull her away and smiled while doing so as they thought it was kind exciting to see what was about to unfold.
"What are you doing!!" A sudden yell appeared from the corner of the hallway that had stopped the entire struggle between Elle and the knights. She felt one of the vampire's nails gripping tightly to her skin and when she brushed her arm away, a scratch tore her skin from her elbow to her wrist, causing her to wince while the other vampires' eyes turned bright red from the fragrance of blood.
Elle moved backward, holding her arms in pain and stared at the vampire who was entranced by the smell of blood. Raising her left arm, she slapped the vampire across his cheeks and then moved to the one who had let go of her shoulders to kick his stomach.
The other vampires who were angered upon seeing how Elle had fought back tried to grab her strawberry hair.
Madam Val who had yeled quickly glared at them and screamed, "Don't do anything to her! She is Lady Estelle! The eldest daughter of Vernons!"
Upon his loud voice, the other vampires stopped as if they were petrified on spot. They then lifted their face to Madam Val in startle, trying to understand what they had heard and whether it was true. Then their eyes went to Elle who had frowned in anger, speechless beyond words as it slowly sinked in to their heads that Elle was someone they shouldn't have messed with.
