It’s Not ME!

Magnus tall stature tower over her. No matter how much she had looked at him before, she still find herself a little bit awed by his face structure. The man— the weird kind man who had oddly saved her twice— was a man made with such meticulous craft by god above.

His skin was so smooth that one could compare it with silk and his red eyes were like burning ruby, filled with passion and soul which made her always feel attracted to keep an eye contact. She questioned how can someone be so perfect as if he was written and made. If there is one person who had achieved physical perfection, Elle was certain that Magnus would win the trophy.

"Admiring again," Magnus hummed as he saw her eyes frozen. It wasn't his first time for someone to stare at him granted with his handsomeness but it was truly his first time for someone to be so bold and stare at his eyes, something that even most creatures can't do.

Elle's cheeks turned red and she snapped her eyes away, not realizing just how long she had traced his skin. She cleared her throat and spoke, "I was just thinking that you have such striking eyes."

"Why thank you," Magnus seemed pleased that someone praised him and she could tell he knew he was handsome and he liked being praised as handsome. "I reckoned this is the second time we have met."

Elle wanted to say three, but it didn't seem like he recalled their first meeting in the carriage?

She breathed out in relief, feeling thankful that Magnus had forgotten all about her identity as the phantom thief. No wonder he didn't shout or push her to the prison!

Thank heavens…

"Why do I feel that you are feeling relieved?" Having read her expression so easily, Elle was startled that Magnus could tell what she was thinking.

"Must be your imagination," Elle retorted at once.

"I am pretty sure of what I see though," Magnus spoke an again in a chime and a grin, making her to raise her eyebrow.

"You are very confident." Not that she hates confidence, but it's rare for people to be as confident as Magnus was. His words sounds as if it was the world's rule and he didn't shy away from showing that he believed he is correct.

"Of course, don't you know almost all human survive mostly by confidence?" Magnus crossed his arms. "I know everything."

"You do?" She crossed her arms too, mimicking Magnus and his confidence. "Then tell me about something I don't know."

"How about I tell you something you only know?" Magnus brought his chin nearer to her face almost startling her but she didn't want to show that she felt rather daunted near his face, "Miss phantom thief?"

The smile on Elle's face quickly disappear and turned into shock. She stared at Magnus with her pink lips agape while his smile widened by seconds upon seeing her shattered by shock.

"I- I don't know what you are accusing me of," she took a step backward. He shouldn't know, she was in a disguise and it was dim inside the carriage!

"You don't? Even though you told me that you steal for the sake of your people?" Magnus's long fingers tapped on his forearms.

"I don't remember talking to you," Elle retorted back and if earlier she didn't take a step back, this time she hurried to do so.

God! Was misfortune her first name?

"Oh we did, you demand for my apologies for almost running you over with my carriage," Magnus continued. He didn't plan to push her to the corner but seeing how afraid she was, his sadistic nature felt a bit tickled.

"I would have died if I got run over by a carriage," she reasoned, hoping she doesn't have any definite evidence that could clue her as the phantom thief.

"But your pink hair is the best evidence."

"My hair was black!"

Elle pursed her lips at once, resisting the urge to beat whatever near her with her fist. She was never reckless but the quick banter had caused her to spill what she kept secret!

The silence was loud and Magnus' grin widened bright in front of her. Like a cat who had caught a mouse by its tail, he seemed to be the most delighted knowing that he had won.

"I can explain," Elle trailed.

Magnus shrugged his shoulders, "Go on,"

Elle squeeze her eyes and hands, after thinking of what she said, she snapped her eyes at him and turned her body around. Doing the most unexpected, her fast feet sprint from the spot to the carriage. As long as she had ran off, he wouldn't know her! He was the only witness, well except the coachman but surely just one person's word wouldn't harm her!

If Magnus think she would only stand still like a stone, he was deadly wrong!

Just as she was about to open the carriage door, a slam of hand hovered above her head, "Don't you know?" Magnus sang his words, "I get rather excited when someone ran off from me. I feel the urge to chase you see."

"I'm not her," Elle said without turning around. She stared at his shadow that was so much bigger than hers and only realized now what kind of big mistake she had made. He isn't a human!

"I didn't say the phantom thief was a female," Magnus tilted his head as the girl in front of him seemed as if she would keel over and kill herself from embarrassment, "Do you know who I am?"

Elle gulped and slowly turned her body. Now that they were against each other the distance between her bosom and his chest was so close that she couldn't breathe. His eyes gazed down on her, as if trying to read every corner of her expression. The eye contact never once stopped and if Elle had to say it more vulgarly, she feels as if her entire body was being held by his fiery gaze.

Her stomach felt as if it had been tied and her heartbeat drummed even louder.

Magnus's handsome face was fill with mirth as if he was enjoying every second he had with her now.

"You are someone… who would bring me to the dungeon?" Elle remarked with her hands wet from sweat. She could feel herself feeling more nervous and she didn't know if it was because she was about to be caught or the close distance she had with him.

"You like the dungeon?" He chuckled, "Naughty, so you like pain."

"I don't!" Elle didn't know why she felt her ears heated up from his small remark. She looked all around her, hoping someone would help her but then again wouldn't it be worse if they found out who she is?!

Magnus watched how her golden eyes running all around but her lips were pursed. "Where did your feisty attitude gone to? It's as if a cat got your tongue, kitty."

"Don't bring me to the dungeon," Elle finally plead, "I'll do anything."

It was ironic that she had just entered the dungeon and was about to be pushed to the dungeon again!

"Anything? Terrible offer, don't you know if you say that, you will be the one to regret it for life?"
