The village

The hospital corridors gleamed with spotless cleanliness, almost like a refurbished office building that had been swiftly converted into a medical center in the wake of the Rapture's onset.

After a brief chat with the doctor and nurse, they gave us the green light to depart and guided me out of the hospital. The doctor had persistently extended an invitation to dinner, but I politely declined, choosing instead to head straight to the mothership for a full briefing from Gustav.

"Oh, by the way, I've noticed that my voice sounds just like those anime girls Sam showed me, Nyan," Venidith added with a playful tone, her sentences often ending in "Nyan."

The hospital perched near the shoreline, even though my room didn't offer a view of the sea. What struck me as peculiar was the hospital's considerable distance from the village. It seemed like an abandoned project, originally meant to connect the village to a seaport, but now left to decay due to the chaos brought on by the Rapture.
