Alora entered the house and saw her mother sitting at the dinner table.
"Explain yourself, Alora. You missed work, you came home late and you didn't tell us where you were going." Lorna held her daughter's hand. "What happened to you?"
Lorna was surprised. She had loved her daughter dearly but she didn't know what has become of her. Maybe she was dating someone and didn't want to tell her.
Alora was overwhelmed with emotions. She felt scared, sad, confused and a bit happy. She wanted to tell her mother about everything that had happened.
"Mother, there is something I have to tell you?"
"What's that, Alora?"
A few moments later...
Lorna sighed. It was surprising at how a famous mafia boss like Austin Cannon had fallen in love with her daughter. But they were different, ever so different.
Alora was studying linguistics and successfully in her third year. Soon enough, she would finish her university and set off on an a long journey through life. She had planned on sending her to leave with a relative in Paris due to the high demands of students who study linguistics.
But she could choose who she wanted to date. She was no little girl and could make her own decisions. From all that Alora had told her, it seemed as it he really liked her.
"Alora," Lorna said softly. "It isn't my decision to make. It is yours. You are wise enough to know what is best for you. Just know that I would support you in everything you do."
"Thanks mom." Alora was so grateful that she had such understanding mother.
"That's alright. Now, I need you to run over to get some groceries."
"Sure thing." Alora ran to her room to take her bath and Lorna watched her leave.
Lorna had discussed with her younger brother, Asher. He was a single father, living in France with his teenage son and daughter. He didn't have a wife, she had been killed though, once when he met young Alora, he commented that she reminded him of his deceased wife.
"She is really beautiful, Lorn. You raised amazing children." Ash praised as he wanted Lora play with her cousins.
"Thanks bro." She sighed and looked him in the eye. "But I have to ask you for a favour."
Ash was suprised. His elder sister had rarely asked him for favours but whatever it was, it had to be important.
"What is it, Lorn?"
"I would love her to stay with you when she finishes college. Can you do that?"
"I would be more that happy." He smiled.
"Thank you, Ash."
Fast forward to today, her daughter comes to tell her that a dangerous killer in in love with her. Well, what are the odds? She just wanted her daughter to be happy.
