chapter 44

As Aiyu stood at the entrance ,her eyes widened with confusion and raced as she stepped into the grand entrance of the House of Desolation, her dormitory for the upcoming semester. The high ceilings and ornate chandeliers seemed to loom over her, casting long shadows that stretched and twisted on the walls. The air was thick with the scent of old books and polished wood, and the sound of laughter and chatter filled the air.

She looked around and felt a sense of unease wash over her. Everyone else seemed to be having the time of their lives, giggling and chatting with their new roommates, while she felt like an outsider. She scanned the hall, searching for someone, anyone, who might look as lost as she felt. But everyone else seemed to know exactly where they belonged, and she was the only one who looked confused and alone.
