Chapter 26: Offer

Glad that he wouldn't get in trouble Jayven sighed, and then he thought won't I get a reward for this? So, he asked the man before him if it is he could get a reward for what he had done.

"Then would I get a reward?"

"No, you can't"

"Eh, why."

"Because once those who backed them found out it was you then you will be in danger."

Hearing this Jayven asks something that is concerning.

"Wait, since there is someone backing them, and are in a high-ranking position at that, doesn't that mean I will still get in trouble?"

"Hear us out first."

They tried to calm Jayven, and when he did, they stated that they would explain.

"We can protect you from getting involved in this by my authority which means you owe me one, but you have to pay me back for this."

Hearing that Jayven understood what he wanted to say so he accepted it and listened to what he wanted to say.

"Okay, so what should I do?"

"It seems you are quite tense but doesn't worry if you take my first option then with your ability, I think you can pay me back within 10 years, I think."

"Yes."

With a warning, Jayven suddenly felt a chill in his bones and nodded his head.

Hearing that made Jayven even more nervous. "Is there another reason why he is here?"

She then took a card out of her pocket and gave it to Jayven.

"So, if ever you made up your mind go to the hunter association and give this card to the receptionist. They will guide you to us."

Hearing that Jayen accepted the card. And not long after she followed the guy and left the place.

"A chance huh?"

"I thought you are going to ask him how he bypassed the stamina penalty."

"I'm not that kind of person and you know that. Plus, it got to something to do with his skill."

"But you know his skill, right? It's useless and to achieve what he did is simply unheard of."

"Maybe, but do you remember what Master said?"

"Everyone has their own secrets it could either be good or bad but as long as they don't become your enemy what's the point of knowing?"

"Yes, that's right and that is also the reason why many are loyal to him."

"And also, those who feared him. So, you really want him to become your successor nothing less nothing more?"

Knowing the consequences, he doesn't want to fight these guys after all no one would believe him.

And if not finished fast then it would be he who would get punished and getting kicked out of the school is the least of his problem.

Due to their backing, they could prevent him from joining the National Exam. But as Jayven was still contemplating what to do a voice interrupted them.

"Get out of my way."

A voice void of emotion as if looking at pests he confidently stood as his dark red flowed with the wind's breeze.

"What the heck did you say?!"

"Dude stop!"

As one of them was about to yell further one of them hold the guy down.

"Sure, sir we will make way now."

"What the heck's wrong with you?"

"Shut up and do what he says or your out of the group."

Clenching his mouth, they made way for the dark red-haired guy.

"On second thought scram."

"Wha-?"

"I don't want to repeat myself."

"Tch! The guy glared but not on the red-haired guy but at Jayven."

"You got lucky this time trash-ven."

After they left the Dark red-haired guy walked to the path unhindered.

"Thank you for the help."

As if not hearing what Jayven said he left he continued to walk.

'Clayton Meirs It is said that he could be at the top of the class if he wanted to but just lay low and let the current president take the lead. An uncrowned king that only gets' first during PE.'

Jayven slowly recounted what he knows about the person in front of him who should also be his classmate.

'Other than showing his physical prowess he was not seen most of the time at class. And the rumors Meirs isn't his real family name and that he is actually from the six families.

'I don't know if it's true but one thing is for sure he is way beyond what any child our age could achieve.'
