Chapter 42 (Start of Volume 2): Prologue - My Piece of Sh1t Master

Metropolis City, Decagon. It is one of the most well-known Cities in the continent it holds many schools and it is widely known for its ten pillars that encompass the whole city.

It is a city so unique compared to others because of its almost perfect circular form that it seems impossible to achieve.

Other cities like to copy its structure but it is still impossible due to territorial disputes and geologic features. So, it was all due to chance that the place was shaped the way it was.

"That's a good choice, and what institute are you going to go to?"

"I think it is Nine Paths Academy."

"Hmm, I think it's a place. From what I know it has a strong foundation when training students not to mention its diverse training methods. From what I know you tried doing many odd jobs before your second awakening right? So that place will hone you to be a great hunter."

"Yeah, that's also my thoughts hence why I want to apply there, but why are you talking as if I will be guaranteed as a student there?"

"You're my disciple of course you will be accepted."

"You're not going to pull strings now, are you?"

"Me, no, because I know what you can do and I believe in you."

Hearing that made Jayven feel a bit of confidence, but was later drained by the next one.

"Well, if you fail after my next training then it is all my fault for not pushing you to do your best. And when you do, I'm going to give a fitting punishment."

"What?"

'So, work hard, okay? Since I wasn't able to join you in your training last time this time, I am going to be there to watch you closer than last time."

Confused Jayven looked at him like he was some kind of monster.

'His training regime before was already time constricting not to mention it drained me physically and mentally. So, this time is going to be dangerous that's for sure.'

Jayven had this thought as they flew straight to their destination.

~~~~A few hours later~~~~~
Klein started to look at this device and then he turned to Jayven saying.
"I think this is a good location everyone we are close to our destination."
"Really that's great."
"Well, we would have been faster if we had taken our Jet."
"Yes, we would but Kreg just finished his hibernation so I thought of giving him some time to spread its wings."
Klein said as he pointed at the Wyvern below him.
"I understand where you coming from but please do that kind of consideration to someone else."
"Is that really how it is, I'm pretty sure I am considerate to everyone."
After he said that Chris threw a few items at him in fast successive movements.
"W-wait, why s-stop it."
And as for Jayven he instantly ducked sensing the tension between the two. But along the way he understood something.
'These guys are more monstrous than I expected. Even if I stand up those objects won't hit me. And that speed- yeah no I can't see anything. They already hit Master before I could even react."
Only after all the objects in her hand were gone, did Chris stop.
"I really don't understand. We'll talk about this later, okay?"
"The only response that he received was a glare."
"I'll take that as a yes."
"I really don't know if he is playing dumb or not but Master Interpret things his own way again."
"Jayven, come here."
Jayven complied and afterwards, Klein gave him a bag.
"What's this?" Feeling the familiarity of the item He asked his master.
"Well, I have a new task for you."
"Oh, Okay." Hearing that made Jayven excited forgetting the ominous feeling he felt just now.
"Here read this when you reach the bottom."
"Wait what do you mea- AAAaaaahhhhhhhHHHHH!"
Without answering his question Klein then tossed him on top of the Wyvern.
And as though concerned the Wyvern growled. As if understanding his words Klein answered.
"No worries he has a parachute he'll be fine."
But he still continued to growl.
"Yeah, don't worry he has done it before."
Only when Chris answered him did he stop.
"Why does he believe you more than me? I'm his owner, right?"
"Don't ask me."
"Come on are you still mad?"
"Yes, and if I remember correctly, I told you that he wasn't good at using a parachute."
"Oh yeah…... Oh well, no worries he has done it before and practice makes perfect after all."
And after saying that he only received a death glare.
"Kreg, I think I am in danger here so could you speed up a bit?"
The Wyvern Kreg complained but still sped up to the Decagon City.
~~~~~For the Poor Unfortunate Falling Boy~~~~~

"Daaaammmnnnnn Yoouuuu MMMaaaassssterrrrr!!!!!!!"

Screaming his last bit of grievance Jayven Hurried up to look at his bag.

"I knew it, this was a parachute."

Putting it on swiftly he then pulled the strings and a few seconds later he fell down to the ground safely.

"Good that was better than before. I gotta run."

Glad he did well Jayven then moved fast and hid far from his landing site.

And before long he arrived at a seemingly safe place. And there he took out the thing given to him.

There he received a small cube and activating its gimmick a holographic text was shown.

[To my dear Disciple Jayven, Good luck. That's all.]

"Are you for real right now!?"

'Oh shoot.' Realizing his mistake, he then moved to another place. Afterward, the holographic gimmick activated.

[It was a joke, were you scared tell me when you see me I wanna how you felt.]

'This bastard If I see you, I'm gonna yell and complain.'

As much as Jayven wanted to make it hard for his master, he knew that things wouldn't be that easy so the only thing he could do was complain in his mind.

A few seconds of cursing later another text emerged, and in there he finally sighed.

[For real now. The monsters here are around C and below ranks. But that doesn't mean there are no stronger monsters but if you do meet one then you better run. So, here are the tasks you are gonna do.]

"About time. But run? That's such an ominous thing to say."

[The main task is to arrive in the city in a month don't. worry you will arrive there in a week if you just head to the city while following the GPS while running.]

"Oh, this seems easy but what's the catch he always has one."

Knowing his master, he always realizes his gimmick when giving him something to do.

"As you may have guessed it. It won't be that easy because to enter our place you need to put here the core of ten rank D+ monsters or one C+ rank monster. Your pick and good luck."

Then the holographic Text generated an image of a building and instructed how he should put the mana cores.

'This bastard. I am still not able to recover most of my strength from using restraint on my debuffs last time, this is too much.'

Jayven felt distraught as he looked at his current stats.

"Ugh To think this would happen. I wonder what he was thinking when giving this."

Complaining about his tasks another notification was shown

[PS: Here are some tasks that you would like to do in your free time, have fun.]

Receiving this he saw the task that he was given free rein to accept.

"There are ten tasks. Hmm, this should be doable, I think. I guess I'll accept it all."

[Quests accepted. The contents have all been read and ready to be implemented.]

"What's going on?" He felt distraught seeing the new text generated with the voice function added.

"It wasn't like this earlier. Master only showed text and I know he is the one who did it but now this is different as it has an AI feel to it."

[Oh, I forgot this one has a self-destruct sequence so you better run and don't try to destroy it the chemicals will mix and monsters will come and hunt you down if you have a whiff of it.]

"No way."

[Self-destruct sequence activate. 10, 9, 8]

"This bastard. F**k YOU MY PIECE OF SH*T MASTER!"

Jayven yelled as he ran far away from the device.

Moments later the explosion happened gaining the attention of monsters making them meet and fight each other.

Seeing this chaos Jayven felt glad and angry from this outcome. But at the same time, he knew his Tasks had just begun.
