Sweet Future

Five years later, both Gwen and Felix are 8 years old now. Gwen learned a lot of information from Felix about how magic in this world worked. It could be likened to a math problem, there were a plethora of ways to solve it yet there was always that one simple answer that could directly solve it. Some methods used extra steps while others directly solved it, each magical phenomenon had its own intricacies that would require a mage to learn its internal structure in depth.

Felix grew up extremely well as his defined jawline started to form and his muscles started to develop. His body looked to be extremely well trained as his swordsmanship was further strengthened through numerous duels from the guards in the city. His tattoo seemed to have a dark streak lining its edges.

Gwen's figure still hadn't achieved the same growth that she would've wanted since she was now visibly even shorter than Felix. Her blackened irises had a shimmering rainbow light coming out of it making her look like a fairy in Felix's eyes.

Within the outside garden that Gwen specifically requested to be built to be her playground…

"Gwendolyn, recite to me the power levels of the world. If you make another mistake, you won't have dessert!" Felix playfully took the crumpet in Gwen's hands and dangled it in front of her.

"Meanie!" Gwen tried to reach out and grab it yet she couldn't reach that high yet.

"Hahaha!" Felix laughed out loud as he had his daily fun with Gwen. He eventually reached it up so high that Gwen had no choice but to jump.

Left with no other choice, Gwen clenched her fist, "Take this!" She rammed her fist imbued with mana directly into Felix's stomach. Unfortunately, the expected groan of pain and suffering that Gwen wanted to hear was replaced with a confident smirk.

"Is that all you've got?"

However, it was Gwen's turn to smirk, her clenched fist uncurled as she ran her finger up his chest, landing directly under his chin. This made Felix blush as he unconsciously brought down his hands to stop her from playing with him any further. The tingling sensation she felt as she had her way with him made him a series of sensations that he didn't think he should feel yet.

"Got you!" Gwen didn't miss out on this opportunity as she grabbed what was initially hers back. She triumphantly took a bite as she mockingly looked at Felix, "I win, again!"

Embarrassed at how he keeps falling for it, Felix playfully raged, "That's cheating! I'll have my revenge!" Felix leaped forward, grabbing Gwen by the waist as they both fell down on the green grass, tumbling and turning around as they fell down an incline on the pond.

Although they could've both stopped their decline, it would've taken the whole fun out of it.

Now drenched in water, Felix went and held Gwen in his arms, carrying her out of the pond and into the nearby flatland of grass.

"Dry," Felix mumbled an incantation as Gwen's soaked clothes were immediately dried. The sheer convenience of this made Gwen realize back then that there was no reason to discover electricity. Magic was even more effective in doing the things she wanted.

"Enough fun, Gwendolyn you should know this by heart now."

"Yeah, yeah. You start off as a normal mage that works up their way from Tier 1 to Tier 9. After that is the Archmage level, where the most powerful beings are, which also work their way up from Tier 1 to Tier 9. The final level is Sage, where my father currently is at. Ugh, this is so boring I'd rather go on another duel with you than remember another word of this."

'I already know everything about this and how you'll reach the aura equivalent of Sage in the future. Repeating everything I already know gets really annoying, you know? I'd rather do something practical like fighting for actual battle experience.'

Felix rustled Gwen's already disheveled hair with his hands, "Good job." Felix and about to drag Gwen along when he felt a presence nearby, "And No.12 if you're going to spy on someone you should stop recording them so openly."

"Eh… hello, Sir Felix. It's for uh… hehe… documentation?" No. 12 retained her looks for some odd reason despite so many years passing by. Her vibrantly young look seemed to be her permanent appearance. She immediately tried to hide the crystal ball that was showing the scene when they both fell into the pond.

"No. 12! What did Sister Rachel say about 'that' thing?" Gwen's mischievous smile spoke volumes of how devious this thing was.

The young maid ran towards them as she exaggeratedly leaned in closer to whisper to Gwen, "It's done! Lady Rachel finished getting it without a hitch! Even Sir Finn didn't say anything!" No. 12 was also extremely happy with the news, evident with her tone.

Felix sighed, "Are you causing trouble again, Gwendolyn?"

Gwen mimicked Felix's sigh, "I thought I said to call me Gwen?"

"Lady Gwendolyn, your name holds great importance to-"

Gwen kicked Felix in the shin, yet his strengthened body didn't even react, "Now you call me 'Lady'."

Despite being the person who did the kicking, Gwen seemed extremely angry at Felix. Left with no other choice, not wanting to face a woman's wrath, he decided to finally give in, "Fine, Gwen."

Gwen's previously moody expression suddenly turned joyful, "See? Was that so hard, Felix?"

"It actually was…" Felix looked away as he was starting to stray away from the proper conduct that he was supposed to show. Years of playing along with Gwen made him more carefree and flexible.

"Bah! You're lying. Anyways, I've got to leave! I'll meet you back at dinner! Leave me dessert! And make sure it's as-" Gwen's voice trailed off from the distance as No. 12 dragged her along into the city. Her voice suddenly disappeared yet Felix instinctively knew what she was going to say.

"It's as sweet as her…" Felix numbly waved as he longingly looked in the distance.

"As sweet as her… that's going to be a task in of itself. Hahaha." Felix turned his back, leaving the special garden and into the kitchen to personally make something she would like. Doing the same thing he had been doing for the past few months.
