First meeting

"Right this way, miss," Butler Chen smiled and led a stunning young lady, barely in her twenties, into the dining hall. She was the new caretaker for their master, making her the 25th caretaker they had hired in the last two months. Her salary was the highest, five hundred thousand in any currency of her choice.

The lady frowned, wondering if the man she was about to work for was truly demanding. "My name is Liu Duoduo, Butler Chen. You don't have to call me miss."

Butler Chen nodded, appreciating her friendly demeanor. He hoped she would stay longer than a week. "Here are some tips before you see the master: try not to cower when you see him, avoid sneaking glances, and stay as quiet as possible. Only speak when he asks you to."

Liu Duoduo nodded, taking Butler Chen's advice to heart. She was determined to do her best to keep her job. "Thank you, Uncle Chen!"

Butler Chen smiled warmly and stopped at the mahogany doors. He opened them slightly, allowing Liu Duoduo a sneak preview of the dining hall. "You may go in, Duoduo. The master doesn't like servants around when he's eating.."

Liu Duoduo nodded and walked into the room, adjusting her dress to ensure she looked impeccable and acceptable. As she made her way towards the dining table, a cold voice halted her in her tracks.

"Stop!" she heard, and when she looked up, she saw a breathtakingly handsome man seated on a mahogany chair, mirroring the elegance of the table and doors.

Never before had she laid eyes on someone so captivating. His short wavy hair framed his face, with a few strands falling gently across his features. His thin lips and piercing black eyes seemed to delve into the depths of her soul.

"Are you done gawking, or do you need more time to bask in the glory of this king's handsomeness?" the man spoke in a wild and unruly manner, causing Liu Duoduo's heart to flutter with a tinge of annoyance.

How narcissistic!

"Master, you are incredibly handsome! Duoduo considers herself fortunate to have such a striking and cool man as her master.." she replied, her words pleasing the man and earning her a seat next to him.

"What is your name?" he inquired.

"Liu Duoduo." she answered.

"Where are you from?" he continued.

"China.." she replied.

"And what brings you here to France?" he asked.

"I came to study jewelry designing and cooking.." Liu Duoduo truthfully answered the man's questions, refusing to let her anxiety show despite his intimidating aura.

"Why did you accept this job?" the man asked curiously.

"Because the pay is good.."she replied without hesitation.

Curiosity piqued, he continued, "What does this job entail?"

"To care for master's daily needs such as bathing, clothing, eating, making sure you take your medicines, and ensuring you get adequate rest," she explained earnestly.

The man found himself enjoying the girl's babble and decided to let her continue while he ate his food, listening intently.

"Do you have any experience in this job?" he inquired.

"Nope," she answered, causing him to chuckle. He was fond of her honest responses and admired the brightness and clarity in her eyes.

"How old are you?" he asked.

"I'm 18 years of age," she replied. The man couldn't help but think to himself how young she was and wondered where Butler Chen had found this little girl.

"Aren't you eating?" she suddenly realized, noticing the bowl of agarwood noodles in front of her. She had been so focused on answering his questions that she hadn't even noticed the food.

"I didn't realize, haha," she laughed, picking up her chopsticks and elegantly raising her eyebrows. These were the finest agarwood noodles she had ever eaten.

"Master, you have superb taste," she complimented. The man, who had been silently eating his food, broke into a blossoming smile.

This caretaker was undeniably cute!

After dinner, the man took the initiative to give Lin Duoduo a tour of the house.

They talked and chatted about Lin Duoduo's school life, as the man refused to discuss his own experiences. He even withheld his name from her.

"And this is your room," the man said, stroking his chin as he opened the door. Typically, caretaker rooms were not as luxurious, but he had taken a liking to this little girl and wanted her to enjoy the benefits of working for a wealthy man.

"Wow! Are we in the wrong room, master, or are you so rich that you provide your caretakers with luxurious accommodations?" Lin Duoduo exclaimed.

The man chuckled and walked into the room. "It should be the latter, I presume," he replied with a subtle smile on his face.
