New Beginning

"Mrs. Johnson, I lost my job and can't afford the rent. So I will move out of the apartment," Kevin said sadly.

Mrs. Johnson didn't mind. In fact, she looked quite pleased. Kevin lost his job, so he can't afford the rent anymore. It will be difficult to get more money from Kevin in the future. She could find a new tenant who will pay more rent if he leaves.

"Okay. I'm sorry for shouting earlier. I have the rent for two months here, and the remaining 30,000 World Coins are yours," Mrs. Johnson said politely. She wanted to maintain her kind reputation in front of others.

"Thank you," Kevin replied.

Kevin noticed Mrs. Johnson smiling silently. "If she finds out the truth, she will go berserk. She can only blame herself for being selfish," Kevin thought. He glanced at Alex, who was panicking.

Kevin entered his apartment and began packing. After finishing his packing, Kevin called Mr. Harry.

Since it was nighttime, there were few people around. Mr. Harry assisted Kevin. Kevin then knocked on Mrs. Johnson's door.

The landlady opened the door and saw Kevin.

"Mrs. Johnson, I've vacated the apartment," Kevin said.

"Oh, I didn't expect you to leave so quickly. You lost your job, right? Where will you stay now?" She spoke in a friendly tone. After all, the person in front of her had paid her a large amount of money by falling into her trap.

"I'll be staying with a friend for a few days. I shall be leaving now," Kevin said before leaving.

Mrs. Johnson felt glad as she watched Kevin leave. She had expected him to ask about the rent, but it seemed it did not bother him. A smile formed on her face because she had made a good amount of money today.

Mr. Harry drove Kevin to his home. Kevin decided to spend the night at Mr. Harry's place. Tomorrow morning, they'll head to Springfield.

In the morning, Kevin wore the new outfit he had bought the previous day. From this point forward, he would go by Kevin Flynn.

He stepped out of his room and greeted Mr. Harry.

"Hi, Mr. Harry," Kevin said, smiling.

"Hello, Kevin," replied Mr. Harry. "I have a present for you."

Mr. Harry handed over a little box to Kevin. With curiosity, Kevin opened the box.

Inside was a special edition watch from Goldek, a brand known for luxury timepieces. Kevin was amazed by what he saw. Getting hold of this watch wasn't easy.

"Mr. Flynn had ordered this about a month ago. Now it's yours," Mr. Harry said.

Kevin took the watch and placed it on his wrist. It was a finely made piece of art. That's how he described it.

"Hey, did Mr. Flynn buy this watch for himself?" Kevin inquired, his gaze fixed on the watch.

"No," Mr. Harry responded.

"Then who was he planning to give it to? And why are you giving it to me?" Kevin asked, looking at Mr. Harry.

"I can't really talk about that. But from now on, this watch is yours. Anyway, we're late. Let's go," Mr. Harry said, clearly avoiding Kevin's questions.
