Reunion

Kevin was sitting in the owner's suite of the hotel and enjoying some desserts after the meeting.

"No wonder Hotel Grandiose is the best hotel in the city," Kevin murmured to himself.

In the past, he couldn't even dream of visiting a luxurious hotel. The prices were ridiculously high for an ordinary worker like him. But now he found himself in the owner's suite, savoring some of the hotel's exquisite dishes.

Kevin took out his phone to call Mr. Harry to let him know he was going back home, but something else caught his eye.

His school chat group was active today. No one had chatted in the group for years. After all these years, suddenly, there were over a hundred messages.

Kevin wondered what had happened that suddenly everyone was active in the school chat.

He opened the chat to see that one of his schoolmates had organized a reunion and hoped everyone would attend.

The person who organized the reunion was Caleb. Kevin remembered him because he was the leader of the "cool kids" group that his ex-best friend had wanted to join and had betrayed Kevin for.

His ex-best friend had tried to approach him later to apologize and become friends again, but he had broken Kevin's trust, so Kevin had just ignored him. Kevin only knew that his ex-best friend had left the city and hadn't heard from him since.

He had organized the reunion at the Hotel Grandiose. Kevin immediately understood that he just wanted to show off his wealth.

Kevin just wanted to ignore everything and go home. But then,

"Do you guys want to know something? When we went to book the room for our reunion, Ryan said he saw someone." Caleb asked others in the group chat.

"Did you guys meet any rich second-generation folks?"

"Maybe an international celebrity."

"Hahahaaaa.

No, he said he saw Kevin," Caleb replied mockingly.

"Here, I thought maybe you met some beautiful rich lady."

"Why would Kevin be there? Looking for a job as a waiter?"

"Why would a poor orphan like Kevin be here in this expensive hotel? He'd need to save two years of his salary just to order anything here," Caleb continued. "He couldn't even become a waiter in this hotel."

The chat continued to ridicule Kevin.

This made Kevin very angry. This was supposed to be a reunion of old classmates, not an event to mock and shame him. Why is everyone so interested in his personal life?

"Guys, Kevin is also in this chat group. What if he sees this?"

"He's not going to do anything. I think he won't attend the reunion. Maybe he's still working three different jobs to pay his bills," Caleb texted.

That was it. Kevin had had enough. He wanted to type something, but he knew that if he did, they would continue to mock him.

"The reunion is at Hotel Grandiose, isn't it?" Kevin muttered.

His plans of leaving for home were canceled. He has something important to do right now.

-In the VIP room of Hotel Grandiose -

"Caleb, you're amazing. Not everyone can book a VIP room at Hotel Grandiose like you," one of them praised.

"Yeah, you have to book a whole month in advance to get a room. And I got it because I'm close with one of the managers," Caleb boasted.

"Wow, you're amazing," everyone began to praise Caleb.

Caleb was too happy to hear others' compliments. His goal today was to impress his crush, Hazel, and make her break up with her boyfriend. He wanted to show her poor boyfriend that he didn't belong with a beautiful girl like Hazel.

Right then, Hazel and her boyfriend, Liam, walked in. All eyes were on Hazel. She looked even more beautiful than when she was in school.

Caleb couldn't take his eyes off her. Of course, a beautiful girl like her deserved someone like him, and he stared angrily at the person next to her, her boyfriend, Liam.

Liam was a bit nervous. He was used to these kinds of glares in the past when he was with his girlfriend.

"Hello everyone!" Hazel greeted everyone cheerfully.

"Hello Hazel. It's so good to see you after so long," Caleb replied.

"Why don't you sit here in the middle, right next to Caleb, Hazel? I'm sure we have a lot to catch up on," a girl encouraged Hazel to sit beside Caleb.

"No thanks. I want to sit with my boyfriend. I don't mind sitting in the corners," Hazel replied, pulling her boyfriend to sit right next to her.

Caleb looked at Liam furiously. He didn't like that Hazel flatly refused to sit with him and instead preferred sitting with that poor fellow.

Right then, Kevin entered the room and said, "Hello everyone. Lovely to see you all again."
