A Letter?.

Alex stood before the letter, his gaze fixated on the insignia gracing its surface. The intricate design spoke of elegance and power.

"What might be contained within?" Alex's fingers curled around the missive, poised to uncover its secrets. As he began to unravel the parchment, a sudden explosion erupted, a deafening BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM that shattered the silence.

In a heartbeat, a minuscule dot shot out from the missive, piercing through Alex's skull with chilling precision, extinguishing his life in an instant.

"GAAAH!!! GAAAH!!! GAAAH!!!" Yet moments later, Alex's eyes fluttered open once more. Sweat bathed his skin, his heart raced in his chest as he recoiled from the letter's malevolent message.

"What in the world just transpired?" Alex's voice trembled with disbelief, the reality of his brush with death weighing heavily upon him.

His mind raced, grappling with the choice of summoning the elders or the disciples. Was this the work of a venerable elder, or the treachery of a fellow disciple? The uncertainty gnawed at him as he took a seat, contemplation consuming his thoughts.

Was it the result of his excessive display of strength in the recent competition? His gaze fell upon the letter, his skepticism mounting. "No, until I possess the strength to defend myself, I must keep this secret." With a determined exhale, he rose from his seat and headed towards a nearby couch, trying to take the letter.

"Should I destroy the evidence? No." A decisive shake of his head dismissed the notion.

--

Ten minutes elapsed.

A spark and a roar, flames consumed the cushion before him. The intense heat cast dancing shadows on his face, infront of him was a whole cushion not letter. A nod of affirmation accompanied his acknowledgement, "Neglecting Divination Technique almost cost me dearly, its protection has proven invaluable." The lesson had been learned, and he retreated to his chosen spot.

A yawn escaped him, and he glanced upward to observe the sun's afternoon descent.

"A brief rest is needed, i am really tired.." Rising to his feet, he began his search for a suitable resting place.

He went inside looking for a bed, he went up to sect floor but.

However, a sudden realization struck him like a bolt of lightning. "Where is the bed?" Panic coursed through his veins, his search in vain for a place of rest.

A vehement exclamation erupted, echoing through the vicinity, "THERE IS NO BED HERE???!!!" His outburst was so potent that it sent birds scattering from nearby perches.

--

Ten more minutes elapsed.

Rapid knocks echoed from Alex's location, a continuous rhythm of urgency, he was knocking some bamboos with a bamboo hammer, bamboo was everywhere here.

"Cultivators, always complicating things!" His muttered complaint underscored his impatience and actual anger compared to cultivators.

More knocks followed, each resonating with his discontent. His affinity for rest had left him exasperated at the absence of a fundamental amenity furniture.

With a sigh of relief, Alex finally declared, "At last, mission accomplished." Beads of sweat adorned his brow as he stood up, a simple bamboo bed in his view. Crafted with care, it was a testament to his engineering prowess, a trait he carried over from his previous life.

Before him lay a bamboo bed, complete with bamboo sheets. A contented smile graced his lips as he surveyed his accomplishment. A master of engineering in his past life, Alex had applied his skills to this task.

"Task complete" A perplexed shake of his head brushed off the thought. He made his way downstairs.

"Time to acquire some bed sheets from the scripture pavilion, followed by outside sect walk for leveling up" The next steps of his plan clear, he strode forward.

--

Beyond the sect's confines, the sun still hung in the sky, though its descent was evident.

Alex peered downhill, observing the bustling city below, a hub of activity for disciples to obtain supplies. Such cities existed across different sect levels, a nexus for commerce and community.

"Let's get moving--"

"Wait up, right here!"

A voice shattered the air, halting Alex's intention. He turned, witnessing an individual of extraordinary grace approaching. Long hair and azure eyes marked this presence, a combination that commanded attention.

"Hello there, need something?" Alex greeted, his curiosity piqued.

"Junior Brother, spotted you coming from this direction. Is this your dwelling?" The cheerful tone accompanied a polite query.

"Yes, just recently made the move to the inner circle. And you?" Alex returned the pleasantries.

"Apologies for my tardiness. Lan Ying, third year in the inner sect. Pleasure to meet you." A courteous bow followed the introduction.

"I'm Ale-- Zhi Li. Pleasure's all mine." Returning the bow, Alex made an effort to adapt to the unfamiliar customs.

"Hey, Junior Brother Li, how about a chat over some tea? I'm grappling with some cultivation issues, wondered if you could offer insights." Lan Ying extended an invitation.

Alex mulled over the idea for a moment, "(What the fuck is a dao?) Nah, tea's not really my thing, and I've got a pretty short list of favorites. Plus, I'm swamped right now. We'll catch up later, Brother Lan!" With that, he picked up his pace and headed toward the city.

"Wait!!!" Lan Ying's voice trailed off, his attempt to detain Alex falling short.

"Kid's got some speed," Lan Ying noted, a hint of amusement in his eyes.

He exchanged a knowing glance with his concealed elder, then smiled. "What do you think, Master?"

In an instant, an elder-like figure appeared behind Lan Ying, an ethereal presence with white hair and robe, he looked like a ethereal ghost.

"He's just a beginner in Body Refinement, no cause for concern," the elder assured, his gaze directed toward the city. "But where is he drawing such fortune from? It's a mystery."

after i absorb his luck. gaining treasures will become easier" With resolve Lan Ying said this with some red cloud going thorough his eyes.

"Tonight, we wrap this up" With resolve, they vanished into the night.
