Quarter Tournament Finals.

Alex left the prison hastily, eager to examine the Space Element Essence before returning to the arena. He stood before an inconspicuous wooden door with a simple handle, a stark contrast to the hidden importance of the room it concealed.

BANG!!!

As Alex entered the room, he found a dark corridor leading downstairs. This was the interrogation chamber, quite unlike anything he had seen before.

"I've been to many interrogations in my past life, but this is something else," Alex mused as he descended.

He arrived in a room with various cells on the walls and an expansive cell in the center. Torture equipment was neatly arranged within, and Elders were strapped to it, enduring merciless torment at the hands of an elderly man in a dark robe. Blood stains were everywhere and a formation was placed to make sure pain was amplified by hundreds, this was one of the biggest reasons why Sect was number one in the Eastern Continent, very few could endure such unimaginable torture and not break apart, Sect Master Lin wasn't even using his power right now, He looked confident This old man would be able to do his job well, he was confident in this equipment, This was extremely strong torture for even the Soul Gathering Realm elders to feel pain too. All of these elders weren't normal people, after all, they were treasured individuals for the Sect... But they were Sect Master Lin's hands. There was only one choice for them and they would not like that choice at all, Sect Master Lin would not let go before they said everything.

"Hey," Alex approached Sect Master Lin, who was observing the scene.

"Did you obtain what you needed, Zhi Li?" Sect Master Lin inquired.

Alex nodded. "Yes, I did. And... I have a favor to ask of you, Master," he added with a smile.

"What favor?" Sect Master Lin inquired.

"I want you to release these people," Alex said, causing a slight disturbance in the air.

"What are you even talking about? Are you telling me to—" Sect Master Lin began, but Alex interrupted with words that silenced him.

Alex appeared disgusted as he gritted his teeth. "I will learn it."

"Huh? What did you say?" Sect Master Lin inquired, surprised.

"I am willing to learn it," Alex repeated.

"Again?" Sect Master Lin tugged at his ear.

"I WILL LEARN IT, OKAY?" Alex yelled in frustration.

"Hahahahahahahahahah... FINALLY!!! LET THEM GO!!!" Sect Master Lin snapped his fingers, teleporting the Elders back to their cells.

Alex spat on the ground and departed without further words.

--

"Man, I can't believe this was worth it," Alex sighed as he looked up. What he had just done confirmed his future role as Sect Master; he had agreed to learn a technique that would grant him that position.

"Agh... Well, whatever. I'll just retire quickly once I become Sect Master and return to Earth," Alex muttered, then headed to his room to study.

"ZHI LI!!! IT'S THE QUARTERFINALS!!! IT'S YOUR TURN!!!" Chang Li's voice came through the talisman attached to Alex's pants. Alex stopped in his tracks and sighed.

"Damn..." He flew toward the arena.

--

"Are you sure we want to release them like this, Sect Master?" Grand Elder Feng asked with a puzzled expression. He couldn't understand why Sect Master Lin had chosen to release them so easily. He had been eager to uncover the information these Elders possessed, but Sect Master Lin's actions had confounded him.

"You don't need to worry about them revealing anything," Sect Master Lin replied, wearing a cheeky smile, before snapping his fingers.

BZZSSSTTT!!!

All the Elders and Yue Qi seemed to temporarily transform into automatons before returning to normal, shaking their heads.

"Ah, I see. Memory Distortion Technique," Grand Elder Fang nodded in understanding. This technique was among the most challenging soul techniques to master, and even Grand Elders didn't possess the knowledge. Sect Master Lin's proficiency was impressive.

"Yes, this technique distorts the memories of the targets. The distorted memories replace the original ones, providing the enemy with false information," Sect Master Lin explained.

"Why didn't you use it on the other spies we captured over the years, Sect Master Lin? We could have manipulated them into providing us with false information," Grand Elder Feng inquired.

"I didn't know this technique back then. I only learned it a few years ago. Besides, all the spies we previously caught were insignificant individuals from weak sects. The strong ones..." Sect Master Lin trailed off, glancing at his fingers. "They would be capable of breaking the technique amid its application, often injuring themselves. Such people are trained to die for their secrets."

Sect Master Lin sighed and then gazed at the arena. "Let's go and get this over with."

--

"Now we have the two strongest participants in the arena. On the right side is ZHI LI, known as One Slayer Props, and on the other hand, we have Long Fei, known as Lightning Heavenly Emperor," the announcer declared to the crowd.

Inside the arena, Alex cringed at his nickname while sizing up his opponent. Long Fei appeared to be nothing special, and this battle seemed like another straightforward victory.

"FIGHT!!!" the announcer declared.

BANG!!!

Long Fei found himself sprawled on the ground within a second.

Again, in a single second.

"WINNER ZHI LI!!!" the announcer declared, and Alex was already on his way back to his quarters.

"Wow, amazing! You're really strong, Big Brother Li," Chang Li said with admiration.

Alex sat in his chair, knowing that the upcoming fights would be equally swift. He wouldn't have time to conduct any research, which was why he didn't opt to withdraw.

"Wait... If everything goes well for you guys... won't you have to fight each other?" Fengying contemplated this and voiced her concern. She looked at both of them, noticing their expressions.

Chang Li looked anxious and was about to speak, but Alex beat her to it.

"I will give up from the tournament."

End Of Chapter.
